  1. Got mine today. I had higher hopes for the OMM colored vinyl since the 7" looked so cool.
  2. Shitty experience, sorry, but it made for some good reading. Good luck on the refund.
  3. Updated to reflect current auctions. More vinyl and cassettes to come this week. If anything has no bids and you want to offer send me a pm. http://shop.ebay.com/jerseydave77/m.html On eBay Ben Nichols "Last Pale Light" on Gold /299 Screeching Weasel "Television City Dreams" Yellow /298 City & Colour / Tegan & Sarahsplit 7" Tigers Jaw "Spirit Desire" Tape - Yellow /75 Rancid - Two Cassettes - s/t & "Let's Go" OZ Seasons 1 & 2 dvds Ex Machina Vol 9 - Brand New Graphic Novel (a gift that is a double) David Lapham original cover art to Silverfish graphic novel
  4. Good Point. I moved to Brooklyn in 2002. We had three shootings within 2 blocks of my apartment in the first 6 months I lived there. I didn't have another such incident in the next five years I was in the same apartment. In some areas there is a random nature to these things. I'm glad you weren't hurt though - that is scary stuff and anything that violates the sanctity and safety of your home makes it even worse. Years ago I witnessed an attempted drive-by in Atlanta while sitting outside of the Hot Water/Leatherface/Panthro show before it started. I still recall it as one of the more frightening moments of my life as it was 30 feet away. Thankfully they missed the guy and we dodged being witnesses to a murder.
  5. The best part about this thread? This same question/debate was one of the first I can remember having with my friends in High School when I first got into going to shows and insisted on wearing my Black Train Jack shirt to a BTJ show. It will persist long after any one of us.
  6. I did when I was in High School but honestly, do what you want. Fuck rules and judgmental bullshit in punk rock. Leave the stupid style points crap to Paris Hilton and cable television "What Not To Wear" garbage.
  7. Got it as well. Now to give it a listen when I drive to Atlantic City later.
  8. I had a huge fraud committed against me - $5000 - through my Paypal. I caught that really quick but going back into my account a much smaller charge, likely a test by the criminal, had posted and I missed it. It was past the 45 days and Paypal couldn't have been nicer or easier to deal with. I'd call them and talk to a person about it. Don't call it a refund, call it fraud at this point. Leaving a site up that more or less just rips people off can't be considered anything else at this point. Good Luck.
  9. I replaced my front screen door with a full glass one. My front door is the houses original door from the 1930's painted an off-red color. The glass door lets the cool accent come through fully while offering a layer of insulation against the elements. In the summer I consider taking the glass door off and storing it but it isn't necessary since it doesn't detract from the focus placed on main entrance. The glass door is needed though in the winters to help keep the cold out.
  10. I should sell my house and move out of NJ. The prices people throw out here are ridiculously low by what I paid. I dream of returning to Florida if I ever thought I could find work down there in my field. The PA house looks great btw - I got really into gardening and see a lot of possibilities there.
  11. I was going to post this too. I've bought a couple records from this seller and have actually gotten great deals both times. I wonder why so much craziness was attracted to this particular auction.
  12. Is something that's been culturally relevant since the 1930's still a trend? I'm leaning towards no.
  13. Good List. I'm assuming you have Lords of Chaos, if not you should add it. Good book, amazing story and fits with your list.
  14. She's being respectful - my wife feeds our son with a cover. Funny how for the first two months she was too shy and would only breastfeed in a closed room. Two months of essentially being a shut-in would bring out the inner-exhibitionist in anyone. I did witness a woman who had her kid who was three or four years old standing while feeding off a fully exposed breast on the subway a few weeks ago. Somehow that struck me as odd.
  15. And to add to this point: Be certain that you see paid invoices for all agreed upon work. When I bought my house there were three contractors who had not been paid and I picked up on the fact just before the signing. Before I signed the papers I saw those outstanding checks taken care of as they would have become my headache regardless of who technically owed the money. Also, a big one, check out the neighbors. You will need to be very comfortable with everyone within a couple houses and across the street. I landed in a great spot but wrote off a couple houses based on the condition the next door neighbor kept their home.
  16. Thanks gents. I'll check a couple of these things out I am actually chasing first pressings to start. This is why I should only post in the afternoon when clarity is with me. I dig these records and the collector in me says start at the top with the first pressings then work my way down depending on availability in the secondary market.
  17. Title tells the tale, I'm looking for any of This Will Destroy You's lps. I'm not so interested in the 7"s. Hit me with a pm with the album, pressing and if so inclined a price. I'll make offers as well. While I'm here I'm also looking for a copy of Giants "They the Undeserving" Help take a piece out of my bank account.
  18. They sold the 10 copies, try putting one in your cart. Yellow is in the drop down but unavailable.
  19. i went specifically to grab that Broken Bells and they didn't have it.
  20. Just saw the Dethklok album in Eatontown, NJ. Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I may be down that way tomorrow so hit me with a PM if interested.
  21. Snagged the CWS 7". The second song on the Timeshares split is pretty darn amazing so I have high hopes going forward.
  22. On a buying spree. Here's a few items. Mostly filling in holes: Hot Water Music "Flight" Blue (First Press) Hot Water Music "Caution" White/30 (3rd Press) The Bomb "Speed is..." Test Funeral Diner "Swept Under" 10" Bouncing Souls/HWM 7" Australian Press and Chunksaah w Red Splatter Giants "Old Stories"/50 Ben Nichols lp on gold City of Caterpillar lp Tegan Sarah/ City Colour 7"
  23. It's been so many damn years since I've spun my Joshua records. I'm going to have to go pull those now.
  24. He signed copy 10/10 as Mickey Mouse. I'm sure it was out of respect for the charity. Kidding aside, props to MBR for doing a little something for a decent cause.
