  1. Am I the only person that finds Beach House incredibly dull? I can't imagine standing through their set.
  2. Some weddings let the Maid of Honor speak as well. If this is the case then you are partially off the hook since she will speak primarily of the bride and you the groom. I've done this four times now and I've always related a personal story about the friend and I to show a new side of him to the family he is joining. I also think it's classy to show you at least know that the bride makes your buddy a better person in some way without being totally cliche. Good luck and don't make it too long - everyone really wants to get to the drink they are holding in their hands.
  3. I don't have pressing info but way too many dicks knocking you for it. It's awesome to reminded how pretentious music snobs can be. My niece and nephew loved that song in the Owls animated film btw. Not my cup of tea though. Who doesn't have a band in their collection most people hate? Me? I've got a bunch of overly serious Jihad 7"s that most find unlistenable. Good luck on finding the info.
  4. I got my records from him but he was on the slow side on the shipping. Seemed like an alright guy, I found him easy to deal with.
  5. Just got a shipping notice on this one - stoked to be getting and even more excited that a record slated for a 1/11 release is coming now. A pre-order that is barely a pre-order - awesome.
  6. Some of the versions on the Blueprint sessions are still my favorites amongst the various records of the early songs (Symmetry and Valentine are the two that particularly stand out).
  7. Damn, H20. I still have their first demo. I was knocked unconscious by a feet first stage diver at one of their first shows. They opened that show for Rancid at the Limelight in nyc in 1994 (1995?). I'm so happy stage diving isn't as common.
  8. I backed it as well. I love what Kickstarter has become. I also backed the Strand of Oaks vinyl.
  9. The days of Prodigy on my dial up were indeed pretty sweet. Their chat rooms were the greatest.
  10. She's seeking Smirnoff Ice at 2am and is wondering why anyone is questioning her fitness as a single parent? If you're going out at 2am at least get a decent alcoholic beverage. Or is it idiotic rants posted to the internet that display her stupidity that have people questioning her judgement? Anyway, thanks for posting. I miss living in Florida myself.
  11. Got my package yesterday. Nice all around. I might have to revisit some of the other items I was talking to you about but passed on.
  12. I'll vouch for JCamps - solid trader.
  13. If you like Indie Rock I highly recommend Other Music. Great used and new cd sections. The Vinyl is mostly new but there are nuggets to be found. They are really up on the Indie rock scene though if you are into it - you can always find a new band you haven't yet heard of.
  14. Academy in williamsburg is usually worth the trek. Generation is a must and I think they now own Bleeber St Recs (don't confuse it with bleeker bobs which is only there to drain those with trust funds)
  15. Great Show, one of my favorites. I am also addicted to Breaking Bad - by the end of the third season I think this became the best show on Cable. AMC has their shit together.
  16. I dig what I'm hearing on their myspace. Is the "White Walls" lp something those familiar would recommend?
  17. I'm always collecting something. Records are a mountain as is my baseball memorabilia. I have a great little collection of items from old Yankee Stadium including bricks, original 1923 steel, mound dirt taken just after the final game and more. It's my own monument to a place very important to me and my family. I've also taken to collecting original comic art and have about 10 pieces from artists like Tim Sale, David Lapham, Ed McGuiness, Jason and others. They look awesome framed.
  18. I'll chip in a couple Bender Quotables: Why can't she just drink herself happy like everyone else? Bodies are for hookers and fat people.
  19. Got mine yesterday - the snow is to blame for the delay. Solid seller. Thanks.
  20. Got my record yesterday after a nasty snow delay - totally reliable. Thanks.
