My argument is that it doesn't count as a rebate if all you're getting is $200 to spend at a verizon store. If it were a Visa card or something, it'd be different. Reason being Verizon is forcing you to spend more money at Verizon, not giving you money back for you to use as you please. I suppose if you plan on spending $200 more than an iphone upgrade at verizon, then, yes, it all comes out in the wash.

Quick update for everyone...
 
Today was a HUGE day.  We're down to the last $630, meaning about a third of the project was funded TODAY.  That is nuts.  I had a couple generous donors from friends' networks that came in huge.  Also, Cory Booker RT'd my project to 1.48 million followers.  This stuff is crazy, but also a lot of fun.
 
We're on the final push.  If we keep up this momentum, getting the project fully funded by Friday is not out of the question.  Thanks to everyone here for being really supportive, sharing, and donating.  You guys are truly great, and i am super appreciative.

 As many of you know, I teach in a high-needs inner-city district in North Jersey where at least 90% of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch.  Often we as teachers are expected to make up for shortcomings in classroom resources - and we do!  Sometimes, though, an ambitious project requires the help of many to come to life.  This year I am aiming to kick my students' experience up a notch by using iPad Minis to support their learning in multiple content areas using 21st century digital learning tools that will lay the foundational skills necessary to their future success!  I am using a website called DonorsChoose.org to fund the project, and you can find my project here: http://bit.ly/1vg4kMI .  Also, for the next 7 days, the promo code INSPIRE will double any donation up to $100!
 What can you do, you ask?  (Thanks for asking!)
