Portugal was one of the best live shows I've seen. Then, shortly after American Ghetto came out they started totally shifting. Even social media presence shifted to "we Dem Bois" type shit talking about how they're the best and so hip-hop and stuff.. nothing wrong with hip-hop, I like it too, but just a huge tonal shift from the show I saw them at last where Gourley was so shy\into it that he wore a hoody and faced away from the show back by the drummer for 3\4 of the night just belting his heart out.
 
Dunno. Something broke with these dudes and they went from being some of the most ambitious and down to earth dudes to major label pop spewers that haven't put out anything I'd remotely enjoy listening to since Satanic Satanist\American Ghetto.

I'm gonna' laugh when all 5 of mine show up and I offload the extra 4 at $100 a pop.

Man, tip on sleeves are so nice. I wish they were the standard for sleeves.

Even more importantly, he just finished tracking vocals for the new album.  The thought of new Converge after 5 years gives me goosebumps.

that's about the point i turned it off. first 3 songs were meh. i like 'feel it still', but i'm pretty glad i didn't preorder this.

Honestly did not like his verses in Put Your Money on Me at all, but after a few listens I think I'm starting to come around.  As a band that's constantly evolving I cannot fault them for their progressive flourishes.  His flow is terrible but I think that's what makes it sort of charming in a really endearing kind of way.

expensive, but grabbed. I have the first three, but missed out on the July 2013 EP. I just hope they up their shipping game, every Danger record I have has a trashed cover, they basically shipped in a padded envelope.

I have to say the more I listen these tracks, the more and more I'm loving them. I was kind of nervous after it having been 7 years since their last album but these have me even more excited for the new album whenever that's going to happen. The SNL performance was also great considering how most bands sound on SNL.
