  1. Yea I just checked and cant believe its been over 6 years since ive been on this forum. Although the last 1 or 2 years have dwindled a lot for i think this same reason.
  2. Hey, So I am a teacher and have summers off. I like to volunteer. I am hoping to find a 3-4 week program in July this year. I am hoping for Myanmar/Vietnam but am open to all of SE Asia. Does anyone know anyone good websites/forums/friends or connections? Thanks!
  3. Love this thread! My whole family is blue collar, handyman etc. My grandpas ideal job for me was a plumber (saying a computer will never fix the toilet haha) I have a huge assortment of tools back at my parents house, and asked for my first power tools a little after the age of 10. Did wood shop, drafting and all those tech classes in High School. Then went to university to teach those classes to High School kids. So many school districts now are canceling those programs now or turning them into pre engineering classes. So got out of that since I wouldn't have a job in a few years, and don't want to teach engineering. So sad all those courses are depleting, there are so many important skills taught in those classes that kids don't have much access to at all. I was never that good at school, but am amazing with my hands and love to fix/build everything. I ended up going into primary ed, and am now teaching in Japan. So am far away from my tools and the event of me ever getting a garage let alone a place bigger than my closet wont ever happen unless I marry a real rich girl haha. But so excited about this thread!
  4. I havent been married with kids but dated a girl i was best friends with for 3 years then dated for 3 more. 6 years with the girl i thought would be my wife. She cheated on me we got back together. Then a few months later went back and did it again. I was heartbroken, still loved her. First year after was a blur of depression and just being in a dark grey cloud. Fast forward 3 years... I am now able to look at our relationship from a new perspective and realize how dysfunctional it was. I am very easy going which makes me easy to manipulate, especially when she knew I loved her so much. But wasn't able to see that till about 2 years after the break up. Everything happens for a reason. Right now it feels like good guys finish last, but soon youll win, I know it. I am so greatful she broke up with me as I am in a much better place than I would be if we were still together. I have a new girlfriend who is just the greatest thing in the world. Can't imagine even a single fight with her ever. Your time will come, be patient. Spend time with your kids. I am a kindergarten teacher. Use their imagination. That shit is magic. Look at the world through their perspective as a wonderful magical place. I have rough days and then just look at my students smile and laugh and it turns everything around
  5. Can you still use the shortcuts from the lock screen with this ap? I ride my bike a lot with headphones and always switch through songs using the lock screen skip button.
  6. Hey, Im interested can someone pick me up a copy. I live in Japan. But will be back in Chicago for the holidays so could send it back to my parents house. Thanks
  7. I worked at a turtle wax for a year and we would do full out windex, dry, vacuum and did a really good job on your car. Would take at least 5 minutes per car. Also in the middle of Chicago winter. Most often would have to dry the car with someone else. They would also watch us and see two of us. Most the time we would rarely get tipped or get $1 total. I also would detail (i loved detailing cars, except soccer moms with vomit in the chairs) I can count on my hand the times i received more than $2, sometimes spending 3+ hours on each car. I struggled to make $6 an hour there. We opened a Delta Sonic right down my house after I quit, had a few friends work there. They would dry off the car in less than a minute, had a HUGE line all day and would bring home 60/80$+ a night, I was so pissed. I now live and work in Tokyo. The idea of tipping is unheard of here (giving presents, usually cookies is very popular) But love not having to worry about tipping here, the servers are incredibly great and super helpful. Many restaurants do a table charge where you get a small dish (usually random and you dont get to choose) that is 2-$4.
  8. Mac's was a dad bit long, I thought it was funny but not too much for the whole episode...
  9. I have a data only plan on my phone and need to adjust the apn settings but apparently the function isnt working with ios 7!!!! Huge pain in the butt right now, hope a fix comes soon. Other than that i like it, makes my iphone 4 run smoother it seems (from 1 day of looking at it) I dont really think its that different, just a little bit of functionality, i like control center and looks a little different

  11. I am more of a road bike kinda guy and usually put in 80-100km a weekend and ride about 12 km a day to and from to work. I LOVE giant brand bikes, they fit really well and have had no problems at all with them. I have had a specialized that was also ok, no problems but the giant seems to have a much more comfortable geometry. maybe check out and test ride a cyclocross road bike, my buddy has one and like its. Good for the roads but if you want to ride in the forest you can also do some off road stuff as well.

My computer was stolen so now the only music i have left is on my iphone. I have tried all those programs but they are only demos or cost around 30$ I have attempted the disk use thing but it never seems to work, i think because they are outdated. any tips or advice?

  17. http://store.apple.com/us/product/FD102LL/A/refurbished-macbook-pro-29ghz-dual-core-intel-i7 I'm thinking about getting this and spending a lil more... It's an extra $100 out of my pocket. But fast processor 8gig ram and extra 250gb HD than the basic 13in Although it is a refurb. Am I good getting an apple refurb?
  18. Am leaning towards the air Is it better to upgrade the ram from 4g to 8g for 100$ Or upgrade the process from 1.3GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 2.6GHz To.. 1.7GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.3GHz For 150$
  19. When was the last Mac Pro update. My computer was 2 years old. Will I get the same model? Or will it be and updated version?
  20. Yea it's a 100$ to upgrade to the 8gig ram. Think that is worth the extra $100? Also I'm still not sure about 128g storage space on the air. Are the cloud services getting a lot cheaper now?
  21. Hey so I got robbed last night, super shady awful experience but hey I get a new computer from my insurance I have $1200 I am deciding between these two MacBook Air 13 MacBook Pro 13 I use it for Internet and a little photo editing. Nothing to crazy. What do you think would be best. The Mac air is 1100 so maybe could upgrade the ram or something to make it a little faster? I like the size of the air but the speed of the pro. Any tips
