  1. <rant> They finally reached out on the second to last day of the PayPal claim window - they said "we are hoping not to see it shipping end of October." I'm not a simpleton, I understand that manufacturers run into delays and that the pressing plants are riddled with broken delivery promises... but how about some communication! A goddam email saying "it's gonna be a little later than expected" would have solved this whole thing. I canceled the order on principle but have yet to see any refund or even a response. For a company that presses hundreds and hundreds of albums a year you'd think February/April would be enough lead time for an August release. </rant>
  2. DS dropped a surprise record last weekend and it's a banger of an EP. Looks like a fairly limited pressing (500) according to BSM - 200/ Blue/Black/Cream Starburst (BSM webstore exclusive) - 300/ Black US Pre-Order https://bsmusa.limitedrun.com/products/652418 UK Pre-order http://www.bsmrocks.com/products/652412-delta-sleep-younger-years-lp-cd-digital
  3. I just had to file a claim with SRC because they legit just stopped responding. I ordered the TIN pressing from them back in April. After the release date came and went with no record I reached out - the first email they did respond to, but basically it was just a snarky email that told me to "just relax, it's coming"... but also, how about some communication? Basic principles of customer service? Fast forward to now, a month and a half after the August 16 shipping date - the record is now backordered, and I have seen/heard nothing... and now no response from the company whatsoever. Lesson learned - avoid SRC at all costs - I just want my got dam HUM LP!
  4. Picked up one of the remaining orange splats - got super into this band after listening to Much Love a while back
  5. Same, it's such an underrated EP and that last piano piece on side D is incredibly entrancing. I'm probably in the minority in that Age of Adz is one of my all-time favorite Sufjan albums, but it reminds me a bit of what Bright Eyes did when he released I'm Wide Awake/Digital Ash - a simultaneous release of a fully-acoustic and a fully-electronic exploration of material. ADP feels very much like the acoustic footprint for Age of Adz, but either way both are fantastic!
  6. Bought. As a true-blue Sufjan fanboi I threw my money at the PayPals before I knew the title of the album - quite happy after hearing the first released track. It's funny, I was just listening to All Delighted People and telling my wife that I wish Sufjan would do more piano work - the dude delivers.
  7. Purchased - can't get enough early AF stuff and on vinyl at that
  8. It's funny, as a newer fan (started listening around Beach Music), I was initially far more drawn to the that album than any other, and when Rocket came out I was a huge fan but even then recognized that it was a step forward/away in production, direction, etc. from his older stuff. Having said that, I've been making my way through his back catalogue over the last year and I find myself loving Trick/DSU - would love it if this album was a mix of the old and new.
  9. On the fence here - I listened to Odd How People Shake SO much more back in the day, but this has some strong nostalgia as well. Posting so I don't forget to cave into my own inability to pass up a record I remotely like on vinyl.
  10. Title says it all. I'm looking to pick up a decent copy from someone here in the states, or at least at a reasonable international shipping rate (shipping on Discogs is through the roof for all overseas sales right now). I am willing to buy, trade, or otherwise if you've got one - feel free to browse my tradelist below: https://www.discogs.com/user/bluethumb/collection
  11. I was bitterly disappointed when I heard that this was being re-recorded, and while I still prefer OG this track gives me hope for the rest of the EP.
  12. Fuck yesssss - been searching for the OG at a reasonable price for years. Glad I had an alternative to the hot mess that is SRC (still waiting on my HUM Astronaut LP).
  13. @mikeburns @Tardcore thanks for the suggestions. Perhaps I'll save a bit more before I go speaker shopping.
  14. It's that time of year where I'm getting the itch to upgrade, and I'm thinking my speakers are the next logical area of focus - setup below: Pro-Ject Debut III, 2M Blue > Budgie Phono Pre > Marantz SR-63 > 2 x Polk Audio RTi A1 I've had the Polks for years and don't have a ton to spend, but I'm wondering if anyone out there has any recommendations on a pair of speakers ideally under $500 (for now) that they've been happy with? I've been considering front-ported speakers because I'm in a small apartment at the moment, but I woudn't say I've been sold on solely that feature. My Marantz puts out ~70W per channel so most 4/8 ohm speakers will work.
  15. So glad to finally get a chance at owning this on vinyl. Snagged a light & dark colored copy real quick - overall this isn't my favorite Explosions album but it has some great tracks on it. +1 to those suggesting Bandcamp! I had a black copy in my cart (which would be really no different and even cheaper, but... the hobby!) from the top link posted before I took a look through the rest of the thread. Edit: And then shamelessly went back to buy The Rescue after listening to it and remembering how much I liked some of those songs - quite raw but well crafted for the most part.
  16. The new Peare album, A Healthy Earth, is up for preorder on Tiny Engines. Their last LP was a quiet banger, definitely looking forward to the new album. http://www.tinyengines.net/products/639988-peaer-a-healthy-earth Pressing info: 250 Translucent Green & Opaque Blue Split (mailorder exclusive) 350 Clear w/ Black & White Smoke 400 Translucent Orange
  17. Slept on this somehow, but blown away by both singles and just put an order in for the 180g (despite it saying SOLD OUT in description). If it was just a mistake and I end up getting a white - such is life but excited to listen nonetheless.
  18. So into this - I have a clear bootleg of Acid Rap which sounds just peachy to me, but I'm 100% in for the 10 Day LP. $45 shipped is kinda steep but I played this way too much when it came out not to own it now on vinyl.
  19. Snatched real quick, and still getting in on an exclusive (however exclusive it may or may not be) was the icing - Gretel is a great track and feels more Rocket than anything, high hopes for the album.
  20. Not pressed on vinyl, YET - but I felt compelled to share this so that we may amass and demand it from FoF. I stumbled on to Somni today and fell in love with the Bloom album - a beat tape to rule them all. FFO: Shlohmo, Baths, Ricky Eat Acid https://somnibeats.bandcamp.com/album/bloom
  21. All over this, love me some Appleseed Cast. I've always held Mare Vitalis in the highest regard - I think Storms is one of my all-time favorite ASC tracks.
