1. Definitely learn how to fix it yourself. There are millions of tutorials online. iFixIt has really good ones. iPods are easy as hell to work on, it's extremely empowering to crack one open and make it better.
2. Batteries are super cheap and usually come with opening tools. I've used batteries from RapidRepair many times.
3. For anyone with an iPod with disc issues (skipping, fits of silence, frequent sad iPod icons), I'd recommend doing what I did: get an iFlash Solo and a high-capacity SD card. Those little iPod Classic hard drives will all fail eventually, and solid state memory is infinitely more reliable and future proof. My iPod has 256 GB capacity, improved battery life, and memory cards are omnipresent and always getting cheaper. I bought this card 2 years ago for $120. The only bummer about the flash adapters is that the most common iPod models are limited to 128 GB unless you install Rockbox, which scares some people as it involves nerd stuff. I sought out a 5th generation iPod specifically so I wouldn't have to deal with it. More info is here.

This place - http://www.missionrepair.com/ - replaced the battery on my 80G iPod Classic for $25 it's been working great ever since - it's local to me, but they do offer a mail in service.
 
also, I have a few friends that have had good experience with - http://www.iresq.com/ - again, a local place but reputable people who I trust back it, they also offer a mail in service. (i think their turnaround is pretty quick)

Really curious, too, not that it's any of my business.  Collecting variants is one thing, but that shelf reminds me of the clearance section at a record store where they have 20 copies of the albums nobody wants.  Would love to see their Deadformat or Discogs.

FINALLY, those first two albums will be back in print on vinyl!

I've only been there once and unfortunately it was really bad Got a shrimp burrito and they used canned tiny shrimp in it. Bleck. Also they give you chips before your meal and then say "the salsa is inside, it's self serve" and then you go inside and there's a sign next to it that says "Salsa $2.99"
WHO DOES THAT?! Hahaha.

I have to say that after paying $15 for a 7", the least you can do is put it in a mailer that somewhat fits. 

That's the key bit, it is 100% opposite.  I think this might have actually been better received if he released it under a different name.

IMO yes, I like it better than Torchys and Tacodeli

That's a bummer. My wife HATES Polvo's. I must have an affinity for it because it was the first place we got Tex-Mex when we moved here. You get a ton of food for short money.
