  1. In the summer of 2009, Appleton, Wisconsin punk group Tenement prepared to embark on yet another trip across the United States in their 1986 Dodge short bus. Like their recording sessions of the time period, their method of travel was often grueling and economical. They played with brutal honesty and they lived with brutal honesty. After a violent incident that resulted in a lot of blood, a lot of broken glass, and the dismissal of half of the rhythm section from the group, this behavioral pattern would ultimately lead to the demise of the first major lineup of the band, and usher in a new era of introspection and experimentation. In 2011, their first two full length records, Napalm Dream and TheBlind Wink, were released only a few months apart and lead to Tenement's widespread recognition as one of America's most notable melodic punk bands. Four years later, they released what many critics, from The New York Times to Rolling Stone, viewed as their major statement and first big achievement- Predatory Headlights. Their new singles collection, brought to you by Grave Mistake Records and Toxic Pop Records, represents the time between the release of their early LPs and their 2015 sprawling double album. Bruised Music, Volume Two is not only a collection of singles, but really a collection of transitional tunes that would form the basis of their present sound and distance them from their early juvenile aesthetic and more simplistic approach to the punk idiom. Eric Mayer joined the group on drums at the onset of this period, and two original members Amos Pitsch and Jesse Ponkamo, on guitar and bass respectfully, continued as the melodic force. Much of the material heard within was recorded at home on 8 track machine and cassette recorders; though a small portion of it was engineered and mixed byNapalm Dream and Predatory Headlights' production mastermind, Justin Perkins. These selections have a distinct sheen and lend a signature quality to the record as a whole. You'll hear the first inkling of Tenement's interest in the fusion of classical stringed instruments and pop music in "Wouldn't Let You Go", an instrumental piece called "Jet Slug" that sits somewhere between Pavement and Ferrante & Teicher, the chunky blown out punk/pop of "Blast Exhaust" and "Taking Everything" which seem too aggressive to label simply as "pop punk" yet too melodic to label as "hardcore", the acoustic ballad "Your Sway..." with Nick Drake-esque chord patterns. You'll hear the twinkling pianos of "Perverse Universe" and the jangling, sparkling guitars and lush vocal harmonies of "Paper Airplanes", and it will sound so achingly familiar yet so hard to generalize or pin down. This is the very sorcery of Tenement, and on Bruised Music, Volume Two, the spell is stronger than ever. ************************************************************************ Fourteen Tracks in all, including material compiled from the TakingEverything EP, split 7" w/ Culo, split 7" with Cheeky, Freak Cast in Iron"Sick Club" 7" single, Puke and Destroy Vol. 2 7" compilation, and split 7" w/ Screaming Females. All material has once again been mastered for this release by Daniel Husayn at North London Bomb Factory. First pressing 800 on Black / 200 on Coke Bottle Clear. Split release with Toxic Pop Records Coke Bottle Clear / Black Vinyl - $14 Bruised Music Volumes 1 & 2 Package (Black Vinyl) - $25
  2. Can we resurrect Tuck Me In? Having that against Cringe was a tough choice.
  3. Agreed, I should have put sarcasm brackets around that haha.
  4. That is a really cool story. I would submit that to RevHQ for their weekly fun fact haha. Also no matter how spiritual and peaceful Porcell comes off these days, I could definitely see him wrecking Dave Smalley. I would be pissed if someone bootlegged my stuff too, but that is pretty rude. That and stepping up to Porcell is almost as stupid as threatening John Joseph or Harley Flanagan.
  5. As much as I like Jim, I would not have been upset at all to see Zoli taking over on vocals. That said I am pretty bummed about Jim Ward not performing. At least Drive Like Jehu are playing shows again. Maybe they can get Sparta or Sleepercar on the that bill.
  6. I don't see the problem here. Check eBay/Discogs for the record in similar condition. Reference a fair price (not some lucky person who took advantage of a schmuck listing something for a $1) and take off 10% for eBay fees so both the buyer and seller are happy. Maybe 15% on a total order if you buy multiples. Example: All Get Out - Movement EP on Blue is listed for $10.49 on eBay and $14.98 on Discogs. Maybe round it down to $10 and offer $9. Anyone can look something up on ebay, Discogs, and or Popsike. Sellers are not blind to this and when you send an offer he is going to cross check so rather than wasting each other's time just do you research. That said, congratulations and good luck with the sale!
  7. *faints* Do you accept organs or limbs? Amazing list. I don't even know where to begin with offers. Is that that SSD legit?
  8. Damn I am falling behind on these releases. I still need to pick up Comfort in the Dischord. How are these guys since Rob left? I have caught Steve O on a few solo sets, but not much else since I have been lame and haven't been going to as many shows as of late.
  9. Sweet. I will definitely be picking this up soon. I will probably wait to pick this up at Sit N Spin or Long in the Tooth assuming they get some copies.
  10. Bump. I added more records and lowered some prices. I will be going through more of my record collection and tapes this week. I am still doing 10% off $30 or more.
  11. Sub Pop has been on fire with these reissues. Ordered a bundle. That poster is awesome.
  12. I am aware and this is a 2LP, but that still doesn't justify the $30 for me.Granted I am a bit of a hypocrite, because I spent $25 on Turn the Radio Off when ETR put that out.
  13. $30 is steep especially considering both LTJ reissues were $16. As much as I want this, I am going to wait too. Good Luck and Gipsy Hill are still readily available and have dropped a bit in price via third parties so I am hoping for the same here.
  14. I love these three bands. I have only had the pleasure of catching The Hives live which was fantastic. I am still keeping my fingers crossed for a No Fun At All / Satanic Surfers tour in the states. I may just need to fly out to a festival one of these days.
  15. Bump! Screw it, the sale is still on. I will probably add some more records during the week so if nothing appeals to you keep checking.
  16. Feeling pretty sore today and potentially going back for a third day on the last day on the convention. Friday I got a spider chick from @rempetattoo on the upper right thigh near the crease at the hip. He hasn't posted a fresh picture yet so here is my crappy image all bruised up from the end of the day after cleaning it up. It looks a lot better in person including the sweet red and purple bruises outlining the legs haha Today I got to meet one of the nicest and most humble tattoo artists in @tonytrustworthy. Had a lot of fun getting this Kid Dynamite inspired torch and am proud to have it as my first visible tattoo.
  17. I am pretty excited to get something from him. As soon as he posted he was coming I jumped on it. I was about to make a drive to see him since it isn't crazy far away.
  18. Make sure you go in through the promotion link. Records not under the "Vinyl" promotion won't work. I tried getting Nails, Dinosaur Jr., and Zero Boys albums and none of them worked.
  19. Purchase over $30 and get 10% off. Free shipping if over $50, after discount. The tattoo convention is in town this weekend and would like a little extra spending money (or at least be able to tip my artists nicely). This sale applies until Monday.
  20. Anyone going to the Philadelphia Tattoo Convention this weekend? I have a couple appointments booked so far with a couple of Virginia's finest. One with Jacob Rempe @rempetattoo and another with Tony Talbert @tonytrustworthy , There are a couple good shows going on this weekend too somewhat hosted by the event with Murphy's Law at the Troc on Friday night and Poison Idea + Iron Reagan at Voltage Lounge on Saturday night. Noisem are also in town Saturday night. I wish they put them on one of the other bills.
  21. I just got this in yesterday. Everything looks great despite the post office beating it up a bit. I can't wait to listen to this after work.
  22. My thoughts exactly. I wound up paying a few more dollars for this than the full length, but I need all things Millencolin.
