Man, it seems that absolutely NOTHING stays out of print these days. Everything is now getting represes and reissues and stuff. Why not just leave them be. If they're out of print then they're out.

"Investing?" That's not why I buy records. So I wouldn't know. Also, "promise?" I've never seen a label say, "We're pressing 1,000 and 1,000 only! Ever! We PROMISE." That's just not the way it works.

I think record labels should stick to it what they first promise. What's the point investing in music (or vinyl) nowadays when every song is freely available? 

I like my original too and I have no intention to sell it as it is one of my most precious records. I still don't like these represses as record label clearly stated that this was limited to 9072 copies. 

Picked this up on Monday at the show, haven't had a chance to listen to it yet. Here's a tip: I asked their merch guy if they had any more of the covers CD that they sold on tour last year, and he said no, but if I gave him a tip, he'd give me something cool — I threw a buck in his tip jar and he gave me one of the red VIP flexis with the Police, Weezer and Blonde Redhead covers on it. Best dollar I've ever spent!

40 bucks for 6 songs and they may or may not skip in certain spots? No thank you.

Although a picture disc with vigo on it... now that I would buy

Peregrine is remastered specifically for vinyl finally.  Maria, who did the art for Casket Girls and Marshmallow Ghosts, did embroidery based on the original art.  It looks really fucking pretty. 

song is OK I guess.  Cover art is terrible.  I love her past stuff, so will probably get this, but might wait to hear more.

Just got off the phone w Suzanne at Merchnow. Recently ordered the bad sounding press, so called about returning it. She told me that EVR is inhouse so she went and asked them about the issue. She then came back to me and told me that the band had ordered a better sounding repress, test presses just got approved, and it should be out in 5-6 weeks! 

Well I guess technically they're limited to 1000, but the whole point is to attempt to get into a flow where nothing ever goes out of print unless we want it to for whatever reason.  So there will be variants throughout the life of the albums but I'm desperately trying to be a real label in the sense of consistency.  Like you never have to worry about Distressor or Two Conversations or Eating Us or whatever going bye bye for any period of time.  So the archival series is simply that - hence it not being a true fundraiser or anything.  Just bringing attention to all these back catalogue titles.  Because of current distribution and PR models, we (labels) have gotten in the habit of only looking forward and almost never behind, unless something has sudden value to it.  I personally want to break away from that.
