That's not an awful idea by any means but I definitely can't justify it yet.  Working with New Fumes was in a weird way my 'gift' (so to speak) to the Record Club for being so loyal to me over the years.  I just wanted to find something to spice up the subscription a bit.  Perhaps you could find a friend that's into collecting who wouldn't want the releases you want and so forth? 
 
All that being said I'm constantly growing and changing so I'll never rule anything out.  Just trying to do the best I can.

I'm sure taking subscription incentives and making them widely available is exactly what his accountant would advise against. It's there to entice you into buying in.

So a guy is allowed to get mad about someone using his picture of something he created from someone else's characters?

Band is great and I really don't think they get the attention they deserve.  If you're into crustier stuff, I'd recommend their first three releases (this, No Salvation and Goddamage).  They keep some of that in with their last two releases, but it's not as dominant.  I think House with a Curse if my favorite thing they've done, but it's all pretty damn good.

The legality of reproducing what is essentially fan art for sale is murky at best and really would have to be taken on a case for case basis AND it ultimately comes down to whether or not the original content creator can prove that the 'infringing' work fails Fair Use under the balancing test:

1.1 Purpose and character 1.2 Nature of the copied work 1.3 Amount and substantiality 1.4 Effect upon work's value 1.5 Fair use and professional communities
  Also there's consideration about whether or not the work is derivative of the original and displays 'transformativeness'

People need to chill, I'm sure most bands would be cool with one offs for tests etc, I asked Punch if I could use their logo for a test sleeve and they said no problem. It's probably best to ask though, who knows they may want some for their other tests?

"Just because everybody else is doing it" is terrible justification. Stealing somebody's art is a serious dick move. The fact that you're making money off it is even worse.

I already own this, but if you're a fan of Portugal The Man or anything similar, you NEED to own this Decibully record. It's only $6, too!!

There is a big difference between using a giant corporation's characters and ripping off a small artist's original work.
 
I urge you to contact Tom Whalen and ask him how he feels about some random dude taking an image of his artwork that was found on the internet, screening it onto LP jackets and selling it to hot topic picture disc collectors.

Yeah, it was one of the best shows I've seen in a while. Mark even joined Nick on stage for "The Weeping Song", which was fantastic. Nick has possibly the best stage presence I've seen from a front man, he was all over the place on stage and really interacted with the crowd. 

I'm in for the Molina record and 7". Should update the title of this post though - a lot of Molina/Kozelek fans might be overlooking this.

Slowdive have a couple of cool related projects through Graveface Records: Eternal, which is a great 10", and Monster Movie, which is not so strictly shoegaze. Early Starflyer 59 is great (Silver, Gold, Americana). A local shop here put out an obscure local 90's band's, Minnow, 7" that I really love.
 
Then there's a whole bunch of impure shoegaze bands. Socalled "blackgaze" for the heavy side. Boris has recently been mixing a lot of shoegaze elements into songs, though Coaltar of the Deepers did that first and use some death metal influences occasionally in their poppy gaze.

I'm not sure they are making profit on shipping. They just aren't offering media mail. UPS ground or USPS three day select are the cheapest options. At least the lp is only $15.

There's a lot of great simplification to those, Justice. Saying what you need with brevity. Some people need years of training to bring simplicity back into their work, so that's awesome.

So I locked my keys in my trunk today and had to get a smith to open it. Needless to say I didn't have the funds to try to buy an extra copy. Anyway, the record was $30 and it's on a nice amber/brown(?). Also a nice die cut cover. No more 7" except of one of the member's other bands. Apparently they're running low on Faustian Echos. Merch guy seemed legit worried it could have sold out that night. I'd assume the new album will be on midheaven any time now.
 
Show was fun. Wish it was a sit down show or I had a place to lean. So much was kind of post-rockish or black metal. Still plenty to feed the old fan in me, though. It would be interesting if they tried to write a more melodic album with songs like Falling Snow. It was definitely a good way to begin the encore. Maybe that makes sense. If not it's probably because I'm just exhausted.
 
EDIT: Actually looks like the vinyl was done fully through their Dämmerung Arthouse label. No mention of Profound Lore or any other label.

There is much more to this though.  Or much less if you tend to be a naysayer.  Regardless, it's a big fucking deal to me.
