I really, really hope this is a hoax.  Because other companies will follow suit.  And there is no way, I or the common man can pay these prices and own more than a couple of records.  Gonna give the truth a couple weeks to sort itself out, but it may be time to finally splurge on several albums on this list when the Christmas money rolls in (I had planned on buying Siamese Dream anyways).
 
Luckily, I'm mostly an indie (insert your genre here) junkie, and as long as their prices stay reasonable, I'll still have new shit to buy.

Shout out to major labels. Support your little dudes, that's where the good music's at anyways!

I like the etching on the white/black version.  It comes out much more clearly.

Only 8 songs, wth?! I'll still be buying it though for sure. 

The only way to side step cost is to go vintage but here you need to have knowledge to know what you are buying isn't worn out.  
The good news is that there is a lot of good secondhand equipment out there, it just takes patience, research and asking questions of people with the knowledge you need to work out how best to spend your money.
 
If you buy well and find it's not for you can get a good amount of your money back, but if you buy crap you can ruin your records and it will still be worthless crap that you can't get anything back for if you decide this isn't for you.
 
I don't know how many times I've said this but a decent turntable is an engineering masterpiece and unfortunately that costs, you are dealing with very tiny numbers both mechanically and electrically and that level of engineering has a cost.
 
With any analogue sound system there is mechanical contact with a perishable item which means there is a potential for damage
 
The major problem with all the cheap record wrecking crap that is on the market apart from the obvious is that vinyl has become a cash cow now and because of that companies that either don't know what they are doing or who should know better badge this crap and sell it on to people that don't know what they are buying. These things cost nothing to make with very very poor engineering and quality control but can be sold for $100 plus to people who find out too late what a steaming pile of dog turd they have spent their hard earned on.

he sent me an e-mail about the Matt Skiba Signature GPC guitar i posted about, claiming he had one for sale. gave me a price, and told me he wanted me to send him that amount in Amazon gift cards. i told him that i didn't feel comfortable with that since we were dealing with hundreds of dollars, but that i'd have been more than willing to send via paypal. i also requested pictures of the guitar he claimed to have. he claimed he didn't use paypal and refused to provide pictures. "nah, i'm good" was his exact response to that request.
 
i responded with "nice try, slick." to let him know i knew he was trying to scam me, to which he responded "Fuck you . I know who you are don't worry". so a real stand-up gentleman we're dealing with here. and a mastermind of a sleuth to play the "i know who you are" card when
 
1. i'm a public figure
2. i posted a link to my company's website
3. i posted a link to my personal facebook page
4. i include a business card with my phone number in every record, cd, and cassette i sell
 
either way, just wanted to warn you guys about him before you attempt to deal with him in any capacity.

since he's trying to refute those claims in the actual thread, i figured i might as well post the proof here now and nip that in the bud.

I remember holding this in a local record store about a month after it came out and being like, "should I get it? Nahhhh." Massive regret.

As much as I hated the finale, the first 4 seasons and most of season 7 were some of my favorite seasons of TV, so chances are I'll pick this up. Price is nice too.
