  1. Havent heard the album (only read good reviews about the Steve Hoffman mastering) but with the vinyl bubble right now there is no way this new press is under 100.
  2. That Hollywood movie (Chappie) has probably gained them many new fans. Interestingly the score was done by Hans Zimmer. I can only assume how the shooting went because they seem to take a lot of drugs.
  3. I had the original pressings but sold them because they sounded bad.
  4. Dream Theater - Systematic Chaos US press. Side D music is the same as on side C. EU press is fine.
  5. I dont have any of the new Nile represses, I did contact Relapse about these and they replied: "New masters for vinyl, they sound great!" I didnt buy them though, been burned with bad pressings from them too many times (Baroness, Mastodon). Does anyone have a vinyl rip of the Nile represses?
  6. All the Nile albums on vinyl up to Those Whom The Gods Detest, which sounds great. At The Gate of Sethu is even better. There is a lot of talk here about Deafheaven - Sunbather. I think the CD sounds a ton better than the vinyl.
  7. Im only going to buy the 45RPM version if its mastered and cut by Bernie Grundman or Chris Bellman.
  8. This reminds me collectors like Mikael Akerfeldt who collects obscure prog - for example an album with a random duck on it, 500 euros, no problem. edit: the album was called Fuzzy Duck: http://www.popsike.com/php/quicksearch.php?searchtext=fuzzy+duck&x=0&y=0
  9. They do. But what kind of courier sticks around while you unpack the 7 records and 4 CD-s you ordered? This is usually the amount I order because the shipping is 16 eur whether you order 1 CD or 35. For some reason they ship everything to me via ground. I do always leave them a note (you can do that during the checkout), but they pretty much ignore it. The funniest thing is that if you order plastic sleeves they always put records at the bottom of the box and all the other stuff (free magazines, plastic sleeves) on top to insure that everything in the bottom gets trashed. Whats the point of ordering limited color variants when you dont pack them right. This has happened more than 5 times with me. The shitty packaging is the reason I didnt order the new Nile and Symphony X album from them this time.
  10. Nuclear Blast Europe is terrible with packaging, I dont live far from Germany, but every package I have received in the last two years arrive completely trashed (the cardboard they use is very flimsy). 3-4 years ago they used to double box my orders.
  11. The "investment" thing really started to work after 10 years for me, nowadays I just sell the stuff I dont play or rarely play and buy new records with the same money. Just sold 2000 USD worth of records last month and bought new ones for the same amount (Music Matters Blue Note re-issues). I never saw the vinyl thing as an investment, I just buy the music I like (which is about 10 records a month). Of course there is a lot of pre-listening going on too (mp3-s, streaming, radio, reviews etc).
  12. Both versions are obviously a different cut also. No idea which sounds better, probably MoV cut.
  13. Would have ordered it the last time, but they didnt ship it to my country.
  14. Someone please order one for me and I will exchange it for anything in my ebay list. Link is below. Thanks.
  15. Video is stupid but the sound is even worse - the brickwalling and the cliche polished power pop midi beats. Even her voice isnt natural.
  16. Dont have the time to fill the survey, but the biggest change I have noticed in the recent years is that people are actually playing their records. If you look the threads here made couple of years ago, no one, not even a single person is talking about the sound quality and the pressing quality. Lately this place has turned into a Steve Hoffman music forum. Its a good thing of course. The downside for a lot of people of course is that they have realized how crappy some of the records sound. Some companies made easy money for years with selling CD-s pressed to vinyl. This rarely happens now. The future? Vinyl will be the main physical format and CD-s will be cheap or free promo items only. Im drunk btw
  17. It can also.be the inner sleeve and the static it creates, even wet cleaning doesnt always remove that. If the pops and clicks are at different places each time its static. Also explains why there is surface noise on one turntable and not on the other one.
  18. Received the package in Europe from amazon.com today and they sent me The Dark Knight instead (record mailer and the packing slip had The Inception data). The Dark Knight sleeve had a 2 inch razor blade cut on the sleeve, this is not the first time something like this has happened to me. I can see that many stores carry The Dark Knight in Europe but where is The Inception?
  19. Received the MoV version today. How limited is this exactly when it has already been repressed once, lol?
