Can we get more comments on the sound quality? These turned out to be more expensive in my local record store (in Europe) than I hoped for. How much inner groove distortion these have?

Have heard the song only once, but it was a straight up old disco song (Bee Gees, ABBA etc), I doubt Minus The Bear (whoever that is) was even born then.

Earache sure is milking those old albums. I bet few years down the line these will be redone again with "improved" artwork and sound.

By editing you mean what exactly? I remember reading bad things about the 2LP re-issues from amazon.com (mainly skipping and off-center problems) when they were released, but I think these were all wrong because those people used shitty equipment. I have most of them and they sound great, audiophile quality (and I consider myself one). Even Reinventing The Steel sounds great though its only 1LP (there is minimal distortion during the last song of both sides).

I have had both good and bad from them, mainly bad, for example most of the Osmose re-issues are distorted as hell. Blotted Science was very well cut and pressed if I remember correctly.

Do you think they are from the CD?

So, how does the deadwax differ on different pressings (EU vs USA). I will probably pick up the EU press from a local indie store, I assume its black.

Seems like an overkill set specially if all these albums are already available separatey. If I didnt have all the albums separately I still wouldnt buy this - I have noticed that I rarely play box sets and appreciate the item much more if its in its own original artwork/package. The mixes of the current vinyl albums were fine (werent they already remixed or were these remasters?)

Hm, not sure you understand how supply/demand works. Back then, demand for the band was high so they pressed a lot of copies (for its time), so now they are getting cheaper, plus the already existing Rhino re-issues sound and look very good anyway (maybe even better than the originals).

Reinventing the Steel is still the best sounding metal album I have ever heard.

So, are these sourced from the CD or mp3 or what? Have been saying this 10 times already, but when it comes to vinyl, Relapse office didnt even have a turntable for the longest time (judging by the records they have released in the last 10 years). This music is some intense stuff, so the only way this would work is if these are mastered for vinyl.

If you use Google Chrome (the translate function) and are willing to use torrents, you can get a vinyl rip of almost every Maiden album and can see yourself whether the pressing is good or not. The key word is ru and tracker.

I have had people going apeshit even when I havent shipped a record to them and I have had people who have deliberately damaged the record and people who replaced the record with their damaged one, so thats why by default I side with the seller. The best thing the buyer can do is to return the items ASAP.
