Bought the EU copy and its pressed at GZ. Single outer sleeve/jacket (small seam split on top) and record is in a pretty sturdy inner sleeve (not the typical flimsy full with static printed GZ inner sleeve). Record is terribly dirty but the sound is great, definitely better than my mp3.

I have couple left (sold all the others) and they sound excellent: Opeth - Deliverance Hate Eternal - I Monarch The only downside of a PD is a bigger surface noise and maybe durability, I have never seen a unplayable PD though, they will probably outlast my every CD.

You can clearly see the vinyl grooves and assume the track lengths - do these match with the actual album? I havent heard one second of this yet.

Whiplash OST is finally getting released in Europe. I think its already out. Anyone have this? I believe the US press had some quality control problems initially.

My internet speed is low on the phone now but this is not the Steve Hoffman cut then?

Whats in the deadwax?

Alright, I finally bought the EU deluxe copy and this has to be said: it sounds miles better than the Sunbather record, it definitely has been mastered for vinyl (Sunbather wasnt). I would call this audiophile grade. I think the deadwax is the US one on this (all handwritten, includes the unknown signatures).

I feel like shit because I cant find it on discogs, must get some sleep I think. The deadwax is the EU or USA one on this? I assume the embossed covers were all printed in the USA?

I recently downloaded a huge lot of random mp3-s from Hans Zimmer and I was amazed of how many scores the guy has actually made. Most were from the movies which I didnt even remember having scores. That new track is kind of samey and bad, have heard that all before. Interstellar was definitely cool (different) and the The Dark Knight OST is pretty much better than the movie (its definitely too low in the mix in the actual movie). Inception OST I do have on CD and vinyl but I need more time with it, need to watch that movie again.

Thanks. Is there a sticker on front stating which color it is on the colored variants? This one in my store had but it didnt state the color. edit: The color actually doesnt matter to me at all. I want the embossed cover and the US pressed vinyl (which supposedly sounds better than the EU variant - a comment I think I read here). The discogs page for this is making me confused as hell.

I hope someone can help me, I dont have the endurance to go through all this thread, Im not a hardcore fan either. Yesterday I noticed (here in Europe) that the local record/book store is finally selling the variant with the embossed cover. I think it had a small round sticker on the upper right corner stating its limited (but no color indication). Is it an import from the USA? They almost never bring in imports. Another record store here is selling the regular cover variant and it is even more expensive than the embossed variant I found.

PO: David Bowie - Blackstar - Jan. 8, 2016

What makes the first press 40g heavier, the sleeve? -
I also have The LInk (black press, I think the first one Listenable did with the red one) and it sounds amazing - one of the few death metal (or whatever they are called) records of mine where a single LP sounds so good. It definitely has that some very nice specially mastered for vinyl thing going on there.

PO: Bjork Catalog (Limited Colored Pressings of 5000)
markok replied to GazHilarant's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
So these will be soon available again in Europe on black vinyl. I assume these are the same cuts as the colored vinyl. What is the consensus for which album is the best one to get - which ones are an improvement over the CD sound quality wise? -

If it smells, its PVC. -

This is hilarious. Specially the part that the clear thick sleeve of this is made out of PVC and it will fuck up the record more than any warping you have ever seen. Basically what happens is some kind of a chemical reaction which starts to melt the grooves, visually the record turns paler through time (5 years or so). I thought it was BS until I saw this on my couple of Nuclear Blast records. -
Obvious troll is obvious.
