mappingtheyears
anyone have a vans hook up? all of my authentics are pretty much dead, and i need at least 2 new pair. Worn-in Authentics are the best Authentics. I can't stand breaking them in when they're new.
parkinglot
Worn-in Authentics are the best Authentics. I can't stand breaking them in when they're new.The stitching on the back of shoe always comes apart on mine way too fast. I usually go through 2-3 pairs a year, and that's only wearing them 1/3 of the time.
Guest
my problem is that the only ones i have that are in relatively decent shape are kelly green, scuba blue, and royal purple... not exactly the most conservative colors. i have a navy and a grey pair that are each about 2 years old now, and they desperately need to be retired.. especially the grey. my toes are popping out of all 4 sides, and the color has worn away almost to tan. brutal. pizza face
Been wearing these, they're a collaboration between Vans and a brand out of LA called Stampd...so comfortable

Satan
hey ry. i think my friend is still a manager at journeys. she gets a 50% discount, so if thats the case, i'll inquire.
Guest
nah, the journeys discount is way too limited per employee to just go giving it out to strangers on the internet. thanks though
Sad Heart
These seriously rule. Been wearing them almost nonstop the last few days since it's been pretty nice. They do look a bit weird until you put them on though. Those are sick. Which models are those? I've been thinking about replacing my old Free Runs. ___ Also, I've been wearing Vans non stop for about 15 years. It's all I buy. Perfect for skating and casual. I usually do the Eras, but sometimes switch it up with Sk8 Hi's or Old Skools. Going to get an all black pair of Old Skools tomorrow. Also going to get a nice pair of boots for riding my motorcycle on.
tacoape
Mostly boots. Black 1490 Docs from 99 that are lovingly broken in or Brown Red Wing Iron Rangers. If it is hot, I'll usually wear Topsiders.

̮ ɤ ̮
Free 4.0 Flyknit Very comfortable. I thought about getting these, but then I went with the (much cheaper) Lunaracer. Somehow I regret it now.
icecream
The most comfortable would have to be Nike 5.0 free or ontisuka Tigers. My favorites are clarks desert boots though
Sad Heart
Free 4.0 Flyknit Very comfortable. There look like socks. I might have to get a pair. I need some comfy shoes for the office. I don't want to wear boots all day.

You nailed it, they literally are socks with soles. I love them! I would definitely recommend snagging a pair. They are kind of expensive, but well worth the price. Your feet will thank you. Guest
and while we're at it... would anyone be interested in buying these off me? they're just too damn narrow for my feet, and hurt like hell. they're in awesome shape, and once i take a magic eraser to the sole, they'll look unworn. Guest
i have a pair of thea's in a size 12 that i was able to get at niketown. they're one of the nicest and most comfortable pairs i've ever owned.

But that's a women's 12 (as you obviously know). The Tavas's are the most uncomfortable pieces of shit ever, so I understand why you wouldn't want them. I almost bought these since I get them for like $45, but I tried them on and my feet were aching within 5 minutes. So narrow, and they feel like an extreme pronation/stability shoe. Guest
that's a shame to hear, but also good to know. i do like them, especially these posted, but i still strongly prefer the design and silhouette of the thea over this.
