jbrana
Anyone here enjoy cooking? I'm looking to expand my cooking horizons and collection of cookbooks on hand. Anyone have suggestions of cookbooks that they have a like? Two that I've been referencing quite a bit lately are Sean Brock's Heritage and Rick Bayless' Authentic Mexican. stl_ben
Turntable Kitchen....ok well it's not exactly a cook book...but each month they send you a package with a record, a spice/ingredient and several recipe cards for that monthly spice. I like them.....
jipc
I strongly recommend Anthony Bourdain - Les Halles cookbook. techniques and strategies in classic bistro cooking. He explains there's no wrong way or right way to do as long as you're having a beer or margarita and having a good time whilst cooking. He's a legend! He loves his Deadboys, Ramones, Dickies, Stooges... An old school punk rocker from NYC! Koolhandnick and agaetisbyrjun

Metal Mike
You can't go wrong with any of the America's Test Kitchen or Cook's Country cookbooks. If you do what they say, there's a 99% chance it's going to turn out perfectly. For cooking magazines, I love Cuisine. It's one of the few cooking mags we get that we actually save. SeeMoreGlass
Even if you aren't vegan, these recipes rule! Every time I cook something I'm like "How the fuck is that going to work?" and then I make it and I'm like "Holy Fuck that shit is the greatest thing I've ever tasted" No joke... jvphotoandvideo
The Art of Simple Food by Alice Waters seems like a good read. It's a perfect beginners cookbook and a good way for experienced cooks to revisit the basics. I also have Gordon Ramsay's Home Cooking because Gordon Ramsay. Ha. I've been meaning to pick up a few more but I'm focusing on specific foods now. The Complete Chile Pepper Book by Dave D and Tea by Kevin G are on the priority list right now. I've been seriously considering The Drunken Botanist. With background in horticulture, I think that book would be entertaining.
