To each his own, of course, and maybe I'm just easy to please, but this album has really clicked with me over the last few weeks. I think there's a lot more experimentation and variety than on Oshin, and there's honestly not any songs I'd really cut. That review cites a few tracks as being too repetitive, but I never find myself bored or doing anything other than grooving to the extended jams. I agree with the mention of a dark theme – bubbling underneath that vibrant album art and the chipper, summer atmosphere of the first two tracks, there's definitely an underlying vibe throughout the album that occasionally feels like a really bad dream. I seriously dig it. It's not going to impress everyone, but I guess I'm just grateful that it's growing on me as much as it has. I get random hooks and bass lines stuck in my head every other day.
