mrewest Posted September 25, 2015 Share Posted September 25, 2015 I don't want to say I'm happy other people aren't enjoying this, but I can't remember the last time a band I've liked has made a more disappointing album. If this was a side project, I'd probably not be so critical. But this just seems like a lazy attempt to break into true mainstream rock. It sucks beacuse I really loved that Cannibal song. That incorporated the electronic sound they seem to be going for but not at the expense of SSPU's "edge" for lack of a better term. I won't keep polluting this thread with my negativity. combatwaffle Posted September 26, 2015 Share Posted September 26, 2015 I hated Neck of the Woods so much when it first came out, I stopped listening to SSPU for years, even though Carnavas is one of my favorite albums ever. Eventually, I gave it another couple tries, and while I still think it's their worst album, it grew on me. This new album was enjoyable right off the bat, but I agree it's not their strongest material. Circadian Rhythm is probably one of the best songs they've ever released, but (with the exception of Nightlight and maybe the first couple tracks), nothing really stood out as a song that I needed to replay over and over again.
