bluescreenlife
U is so preachy it hurts. Really hope he's not going the Neil Young direction.
Vega
Am I missing something or is Justin Vernon not listed as a writer himself on neither of those new two songs?

Stress On The Sky
I've not gotten to listening to these yet but I only streamed 22 once and didn't even feel compelled enough to download it. The comments in here make me think I might be better off leaving it alone.

Fast forward about a year and a half later I gave it another chance and not I absolutely love it. So you might be surprised in a good way. I got nothing out of either of the new ones either.

I normally fucking hate autotune as well but i find 22, a million to be an utterly beautiful album, very artistic with a lot of facettes that open up after multiple listens. I like the new songs as well apart from some of the lyrics and the fact that Justin doesn't even seem to have written any of these tunes himself is a little odd, too

I like the new songs as well apart from some of the lyrics and the fact that Justin doesn't even seem to have written any of these tunes himself is a little odd, too I like that he didn't stick with the sad guy with an acoustic guitar in a rickety cabin vibe exponentially as that would have gotten old very quickly. If there's one thing I can't complain about is him making safe choices and repeating himself on every album. I like off kilter glitchiness in general I just don't feel it's his particular strong suit, the squeaky voice samples remind of the sort of hip hop that kept me turned off to the genre for so long like Akon. Similarly the autotune immediately puts a dozen schmoyoho skits to mind or some gimmicky T-Pain feature and it's insurmountable for me. I hated it when he did it on Woods and I still wish he'd leave it alone. I still love those first two albums and being that he likes to switch things up I'm not writing him off for good but these new ones make me think he's staying on the back burner for now for me at least. Actually, it started to click after I watched it being played live. The beauty of that album is buried amongst arrangements and production and it ended up being the thrill of it. poweredbytrust
