elgato48
HELL YEAH!"I am coming back," Mariano Rivera said Friday afternoon in the New York Yankees' clubhouse. "Put it down. Write it down in big letters. I'm not going down like this. God willing and given the strength, I'm coming back." YES! YES! YES! YES!
flood
Ok seriously tho....derek jeter is a monster this year....its like he gets at least 2 hits in every game
rodeojones
I meant to post the other night about that Chipper walk off. Felt like October baseball. Another nice win in extra innings for the Braves tonight. They're my NL team, and they really needed a win to start the series against Colorado. As for the Rangers, hitting a dip in form as of late. mclz
Ok seriously tho....derek jeter is a monster this year....its like he gets at least 2 hits in every game If my math is correct, he is on pace to have 286 hits (which i know its gonna happen, but still) and pujols is out of the line up tonight hahaha
rambo
haha Yea $9M. He's terrible, just glad the Angels cut him I think he has the same batting average as Pujols Vamos Doyers!
travis
That's not saying much. Just about everyone has been better than Pujols this year. He's been one of the Angels worst players and most of the team has sucked. No big deal to sit Pujols for a game. Everyone gets days off, ever when he's playing well he'll get a day off once in a while. Hopefully it let's him clear his head and get a little bit of a fresh start. Kinda funny that they drop 2 in a row and then sit him and get a win and Trumbo goes deep while getting the start at 1B
flood
I think I read pujols had the 5th lowest ops in the majors right now.....oof
selfreliable
So have Angels fans started to panic about another terrible contract given to Pujols with him sucking so hard the first month in?

selfreliable
Suspending Hamels and fining him was pointless. He doesnt miss a start, and you fine him for stating the obvious? Zimmerman hit Hamels on his first pitch to him in retaliation but doesnt get suspended or fined? Both pitchers did the exact same thing with the same ending(of hitting the batter) whether or not their reason was different, baseball doesnt suspend people for reasons. elgato48
Funny thing is if he had never said anything he would have never been fined or suspended. Either so what he threw at him. There was already payback in game.

travis
I think the MLB had to do something to Hamels just so it looks like they are trying to keep players safe. Hamels was dumb for saying it was intentional so they suspend him for 5 games and he doesnt miss a start and it makes the league look like they care to the average fan. Hamels just sounded like an idiot though. Saying he did it cause he's "old school"? What does that even mean? That you plunk rookies for no reason? The whole thing is stupid from the act itself to the interview after to the pointless suspension to the Nats GM going nuts about it in interviews. All it really did was make Harper look good in the end. Guy stole home and took the high road when asked about it.
jerseydave77
In essence it was a monetary reprimand. What do you expect from a Philadelphia team? Least classy sports city in America rivaled only by Boston. Can't wait for the Devils to finish the Flyers tonight, I love watching Philly teams fall. elgato48
Being a cowboys fan I more than agree with you. It was fun watching the eagles imploded this year. Still think suspension is worthless though. He most likely wont miss a start so it doesn't hurt the team

Emo Revival
So uh....Hamilton....that was quite a game he had last nite. Good god that was impressive. Seriously 4 homeruns in a game, that was what only the 16th time thats ever happened. Craziness.

selfreliable
They have a poll on espn where out of 75K people 71% think Hamiltons game was more impressive than Humbers perfect game. I cant believe that. Hamilton was perfect for 4 at bats in a game, Humber was perfect for 27! How much has it not happened before because a player ended up walking instead of getting pitched to when they were at 3 homeruns? Hitting four in a game relies on the pitchers just as much as it does the hitter. Throwing a perfect game relies solely on your ability to make perfect pitches the entire game. GradedOnACurve
Perfect game relies on defense as well. Not to mention BABIP and other factors such as park and strike zone. It really is hard to square up a ball for a home run even once a game. 4 times....
jerseydave77
I do however find the perfect game more impressive. This is a great accomplishment, no doubt, but facing 27 batters is remarkable to me.
