cosmonaut
...And Justice For All is awesome. Period. Backed. That was the last good Metallica record before the band became the horrible mess it is today. I have zero faith that this new one will be any good. sgoodcore
The true Metallica died w/ Cliff Burton. Wrong... ...And Justice For All is awesome. Period.
silentgods
Black album was pretty good, but you can totally see how much of an influence bob rock was.

bigmonkey
I loved the black album, but it was the first one of theirs I got into. Justice is amazing too though.
silentgods
i mean, i can't honestly think of a bad song on the black album. most of those songs are classics and even the lesser known songs like my friend of misery or of wolf and man are bad-ass. xjustinxschwierx
even the hits were good...Metallica doing arena rock wasn't a bad thing at that point...

Thought that Spinal Tap album was called Smell the Glove I couldn't remember what the title was and I was too lazy to google it, but I know they did the original "black" album. celebdeath
juan was right first time. metallica died with cliff. ride and master were the pinnacle of their career, justice was good but nowhere near as good as master and black onwards are a steep decline into a cesspool of shite. i so wish metallica stayed awesome. i hate it so much that their material post-justice is awful but the truth is, it is. manicdogbert
5 records with 2 songs per record at 45prm is a little excessive. you'd expect the sound quality to be extraordinary. but seeing as the double LP reissues of Kill, Ride and Master were pretty crappy. i wouldn't drop the money for this. xfedaykinx
metallica died with the birth of lars ulrich Then they were never alive to die at all? in a perfect world...
sgoodcore
Then they were never alive to die at all? in a perfect world... You're entitled to your opinion however, I would argue Metallica produced the seminal thrash album - Master of Puppets.
xfedaykinx
thats probably the thing. never dug thrash. talented, influencial dudes. dont get me wrong. just never liked them.
skumbucket
five LP's? that's fucking stupid. call me when beatallica gets their shit pressed.
jhulud
Master of Puppets = One of the most important/influential metal albums ever! FTW!
travis
has anyone heard this record yet? Pretty much no one has heard it yet. WB is keeping it super secret. This album will suck ass. They are saying the same things about this album as they did about St. Anger and everyone know what a steaming pile that turned out to be. But it will still sell millions cause its Metallica. kgry
I have decent hopes for the album considering they're not comparing it to anything like they did with St. Anus. And they're back to tuning in E and Eb.

deadbeat52
If you have been keeping up with their fly on the wall studio videos then you know this album will be dope.. they took it back to trash, which is where they should have stayed. "[Rubin's] mission statement was to get to the essence of Metallica," Hetfield said. "He told us, 'Think back to Master Of Puppets — what were you doing? What were you thinking? What were your influences? What bothered you? What was around you? Where did that hunger come from?' I can't fucking wait.
