¯\_(ツ)_/¯
you know that its not going to be an automatic switch to free health care like canada/england... but what if they made a transition period, where for 4 years, health insurance would cost between x and y dollars, but never more than y. what does everyone pay for insurance a month? maybe make the top amount health insurance can cost be the average cost of the US citizen? does this make sense? do you think this is possible? mrc
$75 per pay period or $150 per month.
roadmonkey
luckily work pays everything for just me, anyone else I want covered it's like $50 - $70 a paycheck, unless it's Kaiser Permanente, in which case it's everyone at no cost. So far it's been great
manicdogbert
nothing out of my paycheck. company pays for it and it's a PPO plan.
captainmorgan
I pay $0! Hah! I also don't have health insurance.
dntheman1
I pay about 200 bucks a month with my work paying around 600, this covers me and my wife. What a waste of money. I wish I could have like a quarter of the coverage I have right now and pocket the rest of the money. And this is with the cheapest plan available. I don't know what is going to happen with health insurance/care, but I bet it will be expensive and inefficient.
sgoodcore
I pay $0. Its a perk. From what I understand though, the plan would be to provide an option not require a switch.
kirbypuckett
$30/check It's a rip off. I don't go to the doctors, but I have it incase I get run over, haha.
sgoodcore
Dental insurance is a rip-off, medical on the other hand is a damn good deal most of the time.
dntheman1
In my opinion, health insurance - useful, healthcare - wasteful. I have all this crap dealing with copays and drug coverage that is unnecessary. It's like paying a bunch of money so I can fill up my gas for ten bucks and insurance against getting a regular oil change.
oakland
Dental insurance is a rip-off, medical on the other hand is a damn good deal most of the time. Why doesn't the government just GIVE us medical coverage?
mediocore
I think a little over $150/month for me, my wife and our kid. And that's for an EPO (hybrid PPO-HMO).

thomas
I think I pay $150 a month for a PPO plan through a local hospital. While I was in school the coverage I had through my dad's work would have cost me $400 a month once I was out. Crazy stuff. Luckily the company I had through my dad changed their coverage to age 25 if you are a full time student, so once I'm back in school I'll get the really good stuff again. thrillho
i never look at how much they take out for insurance, it depresses me. but im glad its there. it even pays for my chiropractor visits, that shit is AHmazing.

Guest smccown13
It used to be $20 per paycheck. I never got sick when I worked at starbucks. The day after I quit, I got strep.

sgoodcore
Dental insurance is a rip-off, medical on the other hand is a damn good deal most of the time. Why doesn't the government just GIVE us medical coverage? Because socialized medicine does not work. But providing the option for medical coverage at a decent rate would. And for someone so concerned about their tax dollars you really should do a cost-benefit anaylsis. Figure out if its better to help a little for health care or continue to foot the bill for all kinds of other medical expenses people don't pay. Or would you just prefer we get rid of public hospitals?
