lonesomexloveus
so after all this talk about facial hair lately, i was talking to Juan last night about this and he agreed that it would be an epic idea. all the contestants would start cleanshaven and wouldn't shave for maybe a month or two (a predetermined amount of time) and post weekly updates on their facial hair. then, at the end of said predetermined time, a winner will be declared! i say the judges should be the girls (i.e. nicole, lia, myself, etc) not a novel idea, but i bet it would be fun! would any of you guys be down for this? casey
I'm opposed to starting clean shaven. I don't even want to be without a beard for a day. I hate my non-bearded face.
lonesomexloveus
make a suggestion for a starting length you would be comfortable with! just trying to even the playing field!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i'd be down... if it were winter. summer heat/humidity is fucking awful with facial hair
hickey
A few of my buddies and I did this a couple of years ago, but with mustaches. We shaved clean on the last day of September and maintained only mustaches through October...it was called Stachetober Fest. It ruled. The winner was judged and announced at a Halloween party. tanukichu
I've heard of such events as Beardtober or Novembeard. I feel left out. Sometimes I wish I could grow a beard. I think it would be fun.
minty
A few of my buddies and I did this a couple of years ago, but with mustaches. We shaved clean on the last day of September and maintained only mustaches through October...it was called Stachetober Fest. It ruled. The winner was judged and announced at a Halloween party. We did this too, but we did "Mustache March". None of us are great enough to grow some decent facial hair so we all looked like child molesters with our dirt lips. It was the most embarressing month ever. The loser had to glue everyone elses mustaches on his face, which thankfully wasn't me!
thedavidescapeplan
My friends and I decided that we are all going to grow mustaches for the Fest. All the women decided to wear fake mustaches for the weekend as well. It's going to be awesome. This will also coincide with the Lawrence Arms Tenth Anniversary show which I feel will be appropriate. benchwarmer
I'm opposed to starting clean shaven. I don't even want to be without a beard for a day. I hate my non-bearded face. THIS! I have a beard for a reason!
tanukichu
Maybe the starting point could be a certain length. Like a "barely there" beard? Like just enough to cover your face.
edgefest
Lets start this in Octobeard, run it through no shave November & end it on Dec. 1! I'm totally down for this!

kirbypuckett
I won't clean shave. Without a clean shave there's no fair way to start this, because everyone's trimmer could be different, etc... I wonder if I have a beard tanline?

One Hundred Fifty-Two
I've heard it called "No Shave November" unfortunately, due to genetics and my career I can not participate.
rtw88
I'm not shaving my beard. I had this contest with a friend in 10th grade though.
Just Another Tom
I would be up for it. Me and a few of my buddies usually do this in January or Januhairy as it is known. Also, i am not sure about everywhere, but i am pretty sure the UK and the US both use the same system to measure how long a clipper trims hair to, e.g a number 2 which i think is 1/4 inch long. partysmasher
what about this dude.... didn't shave his beard until Metallica released a new album (Death magnetic) http://www.flickr.com/photos/37219663@N00/sets/72157594281948201/
murakami
i did this for the NHL playoffs (success!) and had weekly updates - put a few in the recent photo thread. the final picture was asbolutely heinous; but i still might be down for this anyway
kirbypuckett
I think a better challenge would be for the first person to shave their beard, because no one is budging, haha.
swankymodes
I would do it if it's in October. I'm shaving my beard off for a wedding, well I'm shaving it down to a handlebar mustache. But after that I'll be growing it back, so I'd be in as long as it's in October.
