martyk36
I was driving around listening to I am the movie last night. LOVE that record. I feel like commit this to memory is just ok and Even if it kills me is just downright forgettable. In recognition of our brother YU I decided to post a poll. What'd you guys/gals think? AlexH.
Even If It Kills Me is indeed forgettable. Commit This To Memory, however, is very good and a close second to IATM.
pjaicomo
Even If It Kills Me is indeed forgettable. Commit This To Memory, however, is very good and a close second to IATM. Yes. This. I would also like to point out that the best song from Even If Kills Me did not even make the record (The Worst Part). It was on the Japan only Broken Heart EP and as a b-side on the This Is for Real 7"
scotterson
Pretty much agree with everything here. I am the movie is so great and is something I never get tired of. I love commit this to memory too but it doesn't hold up as well. And I didn't know that The Worst Part was supposed to be on even if it kills me. Its such a good song. It was on the sound of superman comp in like 06.

It was on the Japan only Broken Heart EP and as a b-side on the This Is for Real 7" Yeah, like Scotterson said, I don't think "The Worst Part" was ever slated to be on Even If It Kills Me, mainly because it was already released via that Superman comp well before the band even started writing/recording the album in question. It was most likely a Commit This To Memory leftover.
tanukichu
Love love love this band so much. Nothing really beats I Am the Movie. Even though I was kind of disappointed with Even If It Kills Me, I love them regardless. I'm stoked for the new one.
lokithelion
I've slowly started to enjoy Even If It Kills Me. Commit this to Memory is my favorite just because of place and time when I first heard it.

mcm1610
I like I am the Movie the best overall, but the closing song on Commit this to memory is my favorite song I think. Or the acoustic version of My Favorite Accident from Punk Goes Acoustic.
tim
I Am The Movie is good, but a handful of songs are pretty forgettable. Commit This To Memory is in my top 10 albums of all time though, if not top 5. I think it's perfect from start to finish.
lokithelion
i think the ep before i am the movie is better. I really really like all the old stuff too. The original mix of I am the movie is awesome too. 1000 paper cranes is easily the best get up kids song by a band that isn't the get up kids. brammyg
The new album should be pretty good based on the new song. Love these guys though. Were my favourite band all through high school.

I've not heard anything post the i am the movie...so the epitaph version is different than the self released version? weird.

One Hundred Fifty-Two
I AM THE MOVIE and i am lucky enough to get to see it cover to cover in december. They are actually playing a different CD three days in a row, but I chose to go to the first day only. I am hoping for Throwdown and the new song disappear also. There will probably have to be a few other songs since the cd is 43 mins.
cesar11
Hearing "My Favorite Accident" for the first time in 10th grade, I fell in love with that song and the rest of the album. But then they released Commit This To Memory and I for the life of me could not stop listening to that album for about a month straight. Then Even If It Kills Me came out and it did in fact kill me. jhog3411
The first two albums are just awesome. The third album is horrible. A couple of pop gems but the others have lyrics that made me cringe at times and the songs just go nowhere. I'm glad Justin got help but the sober music stunk. kirbypuckett
I Am the Movie, then about half of the tracks on CTM, then zero tracks on that last album -- I deleted that thing a long time ago.
lifebystereo
I can hardly listen to I Am the Movie anymore because it's just so attached to a specific time for me. Still, fantastic album, and the same goes for Commit This. I also pretty much agree with everyone about Even If It Kills Me, though I really liked a few songs.
