CONVERGE "On My Shield" 7"EP announced

Recommended Posts

Hey guys -

I made this thread to add additional info on this project.

Also it was annoying me that "Shield" was spelled incorrectly in the other thread, so yeah, here you go...

Thanks.

Converge are proud to announce the self-release of their brand new 7"EP, "On My Shield".

"On My Shield" was recorded at Godcity studios in-between the band's 2010 "Axe To Fall" U.S. & Euro tours.

The release features the new song "On My Shield" on the A-side, while the B-side features a laser etching.

"On My Shield" is limited to 3000 copies total, and is available in three different color variations (each limited to 1000 copies).

Each copy of the release (excluding Euro tour copies, sorry folks) comes with a FREE Digital Download Coupon

(located inside the physical 7"EP packaging), good for a high quality MP3 download of the release.

The 7"EP will be available exclusively through the following distribution methods:

Color #1 (limited to 1000) - Direct from the band on their "Axe To Fall" European tour

(Note: No Download Coupon is available in this version)

Color #2 (limited to 1000) - Through the official Converge Estore powered by Kingsroad

(made available AFTER the tour)

Color #3 (limited to 1000) - Vinyl retailers can purchase this release wholesale via Deathwish Direct Distribution

(made available AFTER the tour)

Once these 7"EPs are gone, they are gone forever.

If any Fine Europeans would like to help me out with a tour edition please let me know.

Same here please. I'm a ho for Converge.

Jake, I see you weren't kidding in the United Nations thread about more exciting Deathwish stuff. I love it when awesome stuff gets announced out of the blue!

Thanks for the support.

We had a song and felt like it was ready to share. We thought it would be a challenge to get the release together in that short amount of time. Recording, designing, mastering, and manufacturing were all done in under four weeks time.

We are collectively very happy with the final form it all took.

Thanks to C/Z, Pirates Press, and Nomads of Prague for helping pull it all together.

As for song/release length, I believe the final version came in around 5 minutes long. That's longer than many other bands full EP releases.

Thanks again VC.
