GREEN DAY IN THE STUDIO RECORDING THREE ALBUMS – A TRILOGY ENTITLED ¡UNO!, ¡DOS!, AND ¡TRÉ!

ALBUMS TO BE RELEASED FROM

SEPTEMBER 2012 TO JANUARY 2013

LOS ANGELES, CA – April 11, 2012 – Green Day is currently in the studio recording three albums – a trilogy entitled ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré! – that will be released by Reprise Records on Tuesday, September 25th 2012; Tuesday, November 13th 2012 and Tuesday, January 15th 2013 respectively. The albums are the follow-up to the Grammy®Award-winning 21st Century Breakdown, and are being produced by the band’s long-time producer Rob Cavallo. ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tré! are being recorded in their hometown of Oakland, CA.

“We are at the most prolific and creative time in our lives. This is the best music we've ever written, and the songs just keep coming,†said the members of Green Day. “Instead of making one album, we are making a three album trilogy. Every song has the power and energy that represents Green Day on all emotional levels. We just can't help ourselves... We are going epic as fuck!"

Id have a hard time getting excited for new Green Day after 21st Century Breakdown

This virtually guarantee's 3 crappy to mediocre albums when they could probably just take the 15 best songs overall and make 1 good record. I was hoping they would get over this rock opera bullshit from the last 2 albums and go back and make a punk record. I should have known that would never happen though.

im with you on this, i was expecting a 14 song upbeat album this time around, but it looks like green day has gone full blown george lucas on us...

even with 21cb they put waaay too many tracks on it...if they condensed that down to the best 12 songs it would have been a much better album overall

I try not to be that "their old stuff r00lz, this new shit sux!" guy, but they completely lost me in the last two albums. I just can't get into it. Naming a song "Know Your Enemy" and then having it be a ridiculously lazy and uninspiring song.. If you're going to up the punx, up 'em! Don't be operatic about it.

And this is coming from a kid who memorized every word of everything up til Insomniac when I was 10.

It might not actually be all "rock opera", from what I've seen in all the updates it seems they're going for a more old school rock sound and feel on the album. It'll have a story, but that doesn't really mean much, I think it'll be a pretty rocking album.

Also I think they're one of those bands that has had to leave out lots of good songs over the years just because they had too many already. A record label isn't gonna let you put out an album with like 23 songs even if they're all good, because a lot of people don't wanna listen to that many and the flow of the album might suffer. However...if you put them on 3 seperate shorter releases...that would be a brilliant idea.

And look at the titles, it's not "American Idiot" or "21st Century Breakdown" or some bullshit like that...it's just 1, 2, 3!!!!! Can't be too serious right?

Saying you hate them is fine, saying they're one of the worst bands of all time is moronic. There is so much fucking out of tune, terribly produced and put together shit out there, with lame overused lyrics and the people can barely play guitar and especially can't put on a live show (which GD is extremely good at). Saying GD is close to those bands is just extremely stupid.

Not interested in arguing. I respect your opinion that someone's opinion is wrong.
