northernfailure Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 I'm digging the three songs that are available now. But I definitely think the vocals are mixed way too high compared to guitars. Baroness was always a really guitar-heavy band and the riffs stood out, but now that they're writing more melodic tunes, the guitars are almost background. I don't like that... I think this is the first thing they've done that could be easily covered on an acoustic since it's easily discernable chord structures and melodies. Oh well, excited for it nonetheless. I preordered the dark green deluxe, assuming they could do no wrong, but I'll be getting rid of my copy. I even tried to cancel my order w/ Relapse back on May 19, but was told "Sorry, your order is already processing and can not be canceled".
