Keasby Nights

Both versions of Keasbey Nights are amazing.

I'd love a release of Streetlight's version of Keasbey on vinyl but I think I understand why it hasn't come out.

I don't think Streetlight was psyched on Victory pressing their two original albums on vinyl. They don't want the label taking the profits from the art they make. Victory also charges the band a lot per vinyl copy for them to sell themselves (for example, Cd's cost them $7 each which is a lot and they are a cheaper medium). That is probably why their albums have only had one press so far. Pressing Streetlight's version of Keasbey is just making more money for Victory. Victory Records only released the CD version of "99 Songs of Revolution" and the label Streetlight owns: Pentimento Music Company did the vinyl release. They make more money off the sales that way. They also have basically disowned Keasbey Nights. They refuse to play most of the songs from the album live, and Tomas has said that some of the songs are bad. As it has already been mentioned, it is explained in the end of SM's version of 1234, 1234 Tomas didn't like the sound of Catch's Keasbey originally and rather than let the label do a re-release they opted to re-record it instead for two reasons: to finally get a second chance at making that album sound the way Tomas wanted it to in the first place, but also because it counts as a Streetlight Manifesto release toward their 5 record contract with Victory which they are desperately trying to escape from. It was essentially made as a political move on their part. (Victory says they have only done four releases and the band still owes them another album. So they don't count either Keasbey or 99SOR as a real release because under the label they have 5 albums with their name on them.

I think the real question is "will they take their version of the album with them when they depart from Victory? Will they just leave it behind and say "just download it illegally"? If they do take it, will they take the Catch-22 version too to make the money from it, and say 'fuck you' to the label?

All available for pre-order with a September 3rd release date. I hope this is legit!

At these prices I can sell my blue SITB and have a full Streetlight collection. Any takers?

Victory bundles are now up with three colors available:

black/limited

grey putty/344

clear w/ black smoke/109

Vinyl only options are also up.

Black 'limited' is a relative term. It is definitely not the most limited compared to the other variants. I'm just glad I'm able to finally spin this.
