Guest Posted April 28, 2015 Share Posted April 28, 2015 I've had relationships where I've felt more alone being with them than without so I don't feel like getting in a relationship can really fix this. I've met most of my friends through work. I feel that most people are open to making new friends, it just takes some time to break the ice. I know it can't, and I feel like I could be the cause of this feeling for others at this point in my life. I need to work on myself before being in a relationship. I try not to judge. Or think about it to much. I will say this, the only time I've seen my half-brother actually happy was when talking about his "girlfriend". I just hope that she is equally happy with the arrangement. As long as he's happy then I suppose that's a good thing. I need to work on myself before being in a relationship. i seem to interact with my VC friends way more than my real life friends so being on here is a great way to meet people ! I don't know if you're the type that likes to go out rather than stay in but if you're the latter, I say just stick around here and mingle. I have met tons of people from here that I feel very comfortable with and can talk about my day even though it's all long distance texting and a year ago when I joined, I never would have pictured that being a possibility. I have friends, just none nearly as close as my one moving away. Plus everyone else is married, or works weird hours, so it's rare to see them. They are too different (different views, personalites, etc) to hang out with too often. I guess it's time to finally get used to not doing stuff as much. Still need to leave Ohio though. I'm 30 and allllll of my friends are married and most have children which is why I don't see them that much so I definitely understand how you feel. I'm sure in a year's time you'll meet new people. Right now it may not be so great but things always change so quickly and all of it is so hard to predict. Good things will happen, just stay positive. Work sucks with me as well !!! I'm hoping to be down to one job by this fall and then I will be able to post a lot more and start napping more and maybe eating more !!!
