steventangent
I'm a broke bitch. I love music. I buy stuff from the used bins all the time. The other day I bought an immaculate copy of Dreamboat Annie for $2. There's some insane guitar playing on that record. It's not the most serious purchase ever. I'm not going to listen to it all the time. I don't love it as much as I love my well-worn Cave In and Converge records. But it's still awesome and still deserves a spot on my shelf. almightyseancore
I know a lot of hipsters just buy tons of old crap from thrift stores to put on their shelfs to look like they have a "collection" thats rediculious, who wants a shelf full of thrift store bullshit? i would say about 1/5th of my collection is old / used records, but it's all stuff that i picked out specifically because i enjoyed the album. Aych
Most of my used bin finds have actually been lightly used copies of new albums I was planning on buying anyways. Apparently, a lot of people in the Atlanta/Athens area just suddenly decided to stop liking bands I'm into and dropped off their stuff the day before I go to the record stores. It works out nicely for both of us. EDIT: I changed my mind about posting my Of Montreal record, and went with The Forecast - Everybody Left instead. I think I made the right choice. SweetJerryWine
My "used bin" record did so poorly! Didn't realize so few people cared about the Mountain Goats.

jase
maybe this will change their mind. That is atrocious. And If I didn't already like Jawbreaker, I'd never want to listen to them based on that cover

Where do you shop at in the Atlanta area? I'm in the Roswell area and I really like going to Decatur CD (though it is a bit of a drive) but I usually just buy new there b/c they have so many great new LP's coming in daily. nick6ten
Am I the only one bummed out by seeing so many represses? I get it, that Blink 182 record was an album you listened to in high school, but you just bought it from Hot Topic last week. I haven't yet, but I think I'm going to post my actual record collection from when I was in high school.

My collection in High school consisted of my family's old records + l dashboard and that's about it.
