Instagram Record A Day

I'm a broke bitch. I love music. I buy stuff from the used bins all the time. The other day I bought an immaculate copy of Dreamboat Annie for $2. There's some insane guitar playing on that record. It's not the most serious purchase ever. I'm not going to listen to it all the time. I don't love it as much as I love my well-worn Cave In and Converge records. But it's still awesome and still deserves a spot on my shelf.

I know a lot of hipsters just buy tons of old crap from thrift stores to put on their shelfs to look like they have a "collection"

thats rediculious, who wants a shelf full of thrift store bullshit?

i would say about 1/5th of my collection is old / used records, but it's all stuff that i picked out specifically because i enjoyed the album.

Most of my used bin finds have actually been lightly used copies of new albums I was planning on buying anyways. Apparently, a lot of people in the Atlanta/Athens area just suddenly decided to stop liking bands I'm into and dropped off their stuff the day before I go to the record stores. It works out nicely for both of us.

EDIT: I changed my mind about posting my Of Montreal record, and went with The Forecast - Everybody Left instead. I think I made the right choice.

Where do you shop at in the Atlanta area?  I'm in the Roswell area and I really like going to Decatur CD (though it is a bit of a drive) but I usually just buy new there b/c they have so many great new LP's coming in daily.

Am I the only one bummed out by seeing so many represses? I get it, that Blink 182 record was an album you listened to in high school, but you just bought it from Hot Topic last week. I haven't yet, but I think I'm going to post my actual record collection from when I was in high school.

Eh, doesn't really bother me. My collection in High school consisted of my family's old records + l dashboard and that's about it.
