BuzzersonKillwell
Headed to a scotch bar with my father-in-law while my wife shops today. I'll be trying some other these I haven't had. Thanks everyone!

astrangerwithcandy
I'm into the 15 year. This man knows what the score is. I got my dad a 25 year bottle for his retirement.

robthepenguin
I'm a 15 year fan, but the last time I drank scotch I had a little bit too much and it didn't end well. It's fair to say I'm taking a break from the scotcht scotch scotch for a while. Here it goes down. Down to my belly. Mmm mmm mmm.

jtcohenour
With colder weather here I thought it would be cool to resurrect this thread. I picked up a bottle of The Macallan this last week. I have been sipping on it over the last several evenings. Damn that is some good whisky.
paynegretzky
I like this thread and couldn't agree more on its resurrection. I bought my first bottle since last winter yesterday. Really love Balvenie but also can't go wrong with glenlivet above.
jtcohenour
I moved to Nebraska this last year and definitely notice they don't have selection that was available when I was in Arizona.

shaizada
Thanks for pointing to this thread! I've recently gotten myself a bottle of Glenmorangie 18 and what a bottle! Each pour is such an adventure, I am refraining from over indulging Almost feel guilty for not pouring consecutive drinks! http://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/glenmorangie-18-year-old-whisky/ In other news, my Johnny Walker Double Black is over That is one helluva whiskey! See my posted impressions of JW Double Black here if anyone is interested: http://boards.vinylcollective.com/topic/17682-post-your-set-up-thread/?p=1716751

shaizada
I've tried the 12 but not the 18. It sounds amazing. I haven't tried the 12 myself. What did you think of it? This 18 year old is definitely a discovery for me. I'm probably going to try out Dewars 12 year old next followed by the Highland 18. http://www.masterofmalt.com/whiskies/dewars-12-year-old-double-aged-whisky/

For the same $$ I would grab a bottle of Highland Park or Laphroig.
xadamhudsonx
If you guys are ever in or around Orange County, the whiskey bar I work at would be a good spot to check out. Hopscotch Tavern in downtown Fullerton. When anyone asks me for scotch recommendations, if they like smokey I always recommend Caol Islay. You'll smell the peat and smoke before it even hits the table. If they like a lighter smoother scotch I always recommend Auchentoshan 12. It's a really nice lowland Scotch distilled near Glasgow. xadamhudsonx
Not a chain. Probably just two bars with the same name. I think there is a bar named Hopscotch in Chicago somewhere too.
