SpazzyMcGee got a reaction from faaip de oiad in Jazz Music & Records Thread
Loved the more west coast cool jazz in my twenties and since have jumped into my Blue Note era in my thirties. Started with Ike Quebec and Grant Green and now has ballooned to a 24h playlist. So much jazz to catch up on.
Love me some 70s Japanese jazz. Soul Media - Funky Stuff is another I’ve grooved to.

So I found a hole in the wall Thrift shop. Literally hidden in the corner of a small shopping center. There i found in the corner, about 50 jazz records up against the wall. Most were from the 50s some 60s and 70s. Couldn't buy them all. But came out with about five Brubeck and some Michel Legrand, Cal Tjader and Kai with JJ Johnson. Was a lot more but couldn't take them all.
Also this popped up in my email:
Really excited about this. But it's already sold out on Amazon. Hopefully my local will be able to preorder this for me.

Starting to venture down a dangerous, expensive rabbit hole of Japanese 70s jazz. Just listening online now, since I really can't afford this stuff.

In for this. By the time this is delivered in April, the next EP will probably be out.

Instant order. Fingers crossed that "Good Morning, Fire Eater" makes the tracklist.

Not many are talking about that new song, i freaking loved it. I actually got chills like I was listening to *Fin for the first time or something

So I was an idiot and didn't pre-order the New Surrender livestream and they sound really good. I really like the atmospheric touch they did with the guitars throughout. Hopefully they pop up online again.

I didn't watch the stream live last night but skimmed through the recording, new track sounds like they're taking more a Vital direction than Lowborn. I can get into that.

SpazzyMcGee reacted to mmhmm in Anberlin - Livestreams
I wonder if the new song they debut will be a live performance or a studio recording. Probably a live performance.

The only real difference is that we'll miss out on Stephen trying to awkwardly joke with a crowd that's not there. I guess they'll just go back to picking on Deon 🤣

SpazzyMcGee reacted to thenameisluigi in Anberlin - Livestreams
Totally! I actually find it pretty funny when people are up in arms over livestreams being prerecorded. It makes almost no difference and will likely only make it a better stream.

There's a video of Stephen (maybe from Cameo?) where he says this one is being prerecorded bc of the tour.

Today's pull - $18 - pretty damn pleased.
Miles Davis - "Sketches of Spain" six-eye first press mono - cover is beat (G), vinyl has marks but plays clean a very good VG. Herbie Hancock "Secrets" - The tail end of my favorite of his funk-jazz albums Cannonball Adderley Sextet - Live at the SF Jazz Workshop - first stereo press VG+/VG+. It's a great record, love the spots where he's introducing songs. Miles Davis "Ghetto..." - Not as exciting as the other pickups. Guess this was the RSD release. Nice copy. No complaints for a few bucks. -

Yeah the TBA colors are curious because of the countdowns attached to them. I feel like one of them is an indie exclusive.
