One more thing, this is an aggressively wack justification. You do realize how this comes off, right? "Empathizing," suggests you believe that there's a hierarchy. So Tim Kasher and anyone with his background/similar genealogy is up (^)HERE and anyone outside of that is down (v)here, like it's a fuckin' handicap or disability.

Not weighing in at all on the overall argument here, but this isn't right. At all. The definition of empathy is sharing feelings with another. It has zero to do with hierarchy or the condescension you're describing. I don't know, maybe you're thinking of sympathy?

  2. Sort of unclear from the post. They say two variants to choose from and then in the comments say subscribers are getting the splatter. So maybe the splatter is not exclusive to subscribers but they are guaranteed one? Strange if that's the case.

I'm not a subscriber, but judging from the comments on all of the posts today, sounds like you are not alone in wondering what's going on with the subscriptions.

Yeah, I mean if it's not Phoebe's album it's the one her abuser didn't release because of that frivolous lil FBI investigation.

Oh, come on. I said initially, as in before last week. It was a joke. Not at all advocating for that dude now or ever again, as my posts in that thread clearly say.

But I see that was totally unclear, my bad. Poor joke.

Feel the fury of the SJW. You guys have too much time to waste on the internet getting fired up about something that may or may not have happened. I'm just here for the music. F*ck the Rain was great, pumped for the new records

Super cool to attack people sticking up for victims and calling out undeniably (except for you and the other guy) shitty behavior. By the way, which part of the victims' testimony do you not believe?

And nobody gives a shit that you like Ryan Adams' music. That's literally why everyone else was posting in this thread in the first place.

  5. Was hoping the lineup changes and a break from touring would have recharged his writing a bit but a covers EP doesn't really inspire much confidence.

I still consider the first two EPs among the best music of the last ten years. But pretty sure those were a fluke, unfortunately. I liked LP1 but by the second, I felt like he was just writing Mad Libs. I don't know how many more times I can hear the same four chords and the words drunk, young, wild, and loud interchanged for ten songs straight. Still kills it live though.

  6. Might be in the slight minority, but I like it and prefer it to some of the earlier remastered/remixed versions. It's raw and imperfect, and unless you're going for a HQ analog experience, it's as spooky and unsettling as watching an old VHS  copy of the film. It's not a defect, it was intentional. The dips in sound throughout are a somewhat unfortunate effect, but livable nonetheless. I'm glad someone finally released it like this, it fits the movie and the idea of the film perfectly, in my opinion.
