There's some real "Old Man Yells At Cloud"-style grumpiness in this piece. I guess Tate thinks that if majors and garbage reissue "labels" set prices at $30+ for an LP, they are then giving more of that money to the artist. I don't know that it's necessarily surprising that he's that willfully ignorant about how the music industry works, but it definitely means no one should take him seriously.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; Fuck Jason Tate.

jason tate is the whiniest bitch ever. this isn't a new opinion nor is it an original thought in the slightest... but the "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" mentality is the sorriest excuse of an idea ever.

yes vinyl prices are going up from "cash-in-labels" like SRC, Because Sound Matters and AFS (RIP). And from major labels like Warner and Interscope (lana del rey at urban outfitters?!) because it's the first thing they know they can sell in a while. 
 
Small indie labels are still finding ways to keep prices down though because those sales aren't guaranteed. They spend more to produce each unit and sell it for less. 
 
Like every other big corporation, big labels aren't worried about getting the music in the people's hands, they're worried about making as much money before the bubble bursts. If they could take a step back and realize they're causing the bubble to burst sooner, that'd be great.

The sentence alone is kind of suspect. You think they're sealed but you may have opened them to verify the colors, aaaand you state what colors they are? This is another example of confusing. Just trying to help out. It's easier to sell when it's all more fluid for the buyer.

I worked with this crusty 300lbs middle aged women who went on herbal magic for a year and lost like 100lbs.  she was fucking gross, and not because of her weight.  just a gross ass crusty ass person.  so she goes on this super strict herbal magic thing and loses 100lbs, still leaving her looking like a fat fuck but now with all this skin flopping everywhere (think of the scene from austin powers when fat bastard says his neck looks like a vagina) and she decides that she's hot shit and like everyone else who does that shit, starts gorging after basically not eating for a year.  well theres a costco next to my work so she goes in one day and gets one of their smoked meat sandwiches and i had the lonely displeasure of having to take my lunch break at the same time as her.  the noises and commentary she made while eating this goddamn sandwich was enough to make you puke.  i'm legitimately convinced she came in her pants while eating this thing.  she was moaning and groaning and actually shaking while eating it.  it was one of the most fucking vile things i've ever experienced and to this day i quiver thinking about it.  most people are not even that loud when they're fucking all she did was eat a shitty fucking sandwich.  fuck.
