  1. New track, enjoy! : https://soundcloud.com/the-dismemberment-plan/invisible-2/s-nhXFr
  2. new track : http://pitchfork.com/reviews/tracks/15890-homesick/ pitchfork streams never seem to work for me, so I can't give any comments on it.
  3. ^ great news! I couldn't bring myself to shell out the $50+ these were going for on discogs.
  4. Got this in the mail on Monday, everything about it is well done and the record is great. Exactly that I was hoping for. Only problem I've had is that I've only had time to listen to it once so far.
  5. I liked the single more than I expected to. I have no interest in Christianity (or religion in general), but I'm more than willing to give this a listen when it's available to me. A good album is a good album, even if you don't necessarily agree with the lyrical content. This could be good. I agree that the track titles are a little discouraging, but I'm not going to completely skip listening to this because of them. That being said, I'm not sure if I'm willing to order this without hearing it first. I'm a little weary of how heavily religious it is lyrically.
  6. Horseback is one of my favorite ambient, drone and occasionally black metal artists. Impale Golden Horn and Invisible Planet are both on the more ambient side of things, where as Half Blood has more elements of black metal to it. http://horseback.bandcamp.com/
  7. Even though All Shook Down might be my least favorite (and probably worst) Replacements album, I'm glad that I don't have to worry about importing one anymore.
  8. I enjoyed it and you're exactly right on the soundtrack taking front seat, it plays a huge part in the film.
  9. I dig these guys and liked the more electronic direction they took on WWEA (I love that artwork too). Silent Running never grabbed me, but I consider soundtracks to be different than a studio album. Anyway, I'm excited for this. Band is great.
  10. I don't know if it is or not, but 30$ seems like a fairly reasonable price.
  11. I'm heading up there tomorrow, Zulu is a scheduled stop for me.
  12. I'm pretty sure the Matador pressing is out of print at this point. Looks like you can get a used copy off discogs for about $35.
  13. Mine should be here tomorrow, can't wait to hear it. The packaging looks fantastic.
  14. Three listens in and the album still hasn't grabbed me. I find it kind of forgettable and too much of it blurs together. All three listens have been while I'm at work though, so maybe I haven't given it the focus I should either. I can't say I dislike it, but I'm not 'wowed' by it at all.
  15. I'm theorizing that the Lydia and/or Todd is going to screw up and offer to roll on Walt. But that might be a little too obvious for them to go in that direction. I have no idea which direction Jesse and Hank's talk is going to end up. I haven't started Low Winter Sun. After the garbage that is Hell on Wheels and The Killing, I've kind of given up on AMC shows. It seems like they're churning out more mediocre (or just plain bad) shows than not. Edit : “I’ll send you to Belize” made me laugh really hard for some reason.
  16. I agree with everyone on Saga 13 growing a little stale. I wonder if Brian has his hand in too many pots right now or what? The Walking Dead is entertaining, but it seems to be variations of the same ideas. I can't think of the last time the book really surprised me.
  17. I wasn't overly impressed with Amoeba. It wasn't a bad store by any means and I still spent plenty there, maybe it just got overly built up. I'll check out Waterloo when I'm in Austin in a few months.
  18. Just noticed someone else is reading Six-Gun Gorilla. I'd highly recommend it, it's an interesting blend of sci-fi and wild west with a dash of reality TV. Plus, as the title implies, there is a goddamn gorilla with a six gun!
  19. That's great news! They're easily one of my favorite bands. They have a huge catalogue to dig through too, so you'll have plenty listen to. I can confirm that they're very loud (and excellent) live.
  20. I love pumpkin beer season! I don't think I can get Pumpking over here, but I'll look for it.
  21. I bottled a barley wine I brewed early last month. Came in at 10.7%. Now I just have to wait 6/mo to a year to give it a try...
