The green vinyl for “Expert in A Dying Field” was delivered to me on Monday! I’ve been spinning it ever since and it’s fantastic! I saw the Beths in Detroit about a month ago and they blew me away.

Got an ad for them on IG a month or so back with the lead single. Listened to and while plenty of other bands sound like them, something still sets them apart. Been waiting for the whole album to drop, but otherwise enjoying every album they've put out thus far.

Well yeah, this is a big factor in releases these days. Not to bring it up again, but I got kicked from the Holy Fawn discord for sharing the pressing info (not images). The band responded to me saying the labels all wanted it that way.

My conjecture: All the other dealers (Hard Times, Indies, whatever) have it in their contract to not reveal before hand.
    1) To increase FOMO, to increase the chance you'll just buy the first variant that you see or gets dropped on VC. If all the links are right there nice and tidy in front of you, you're willing to take the time to get the prettier/cheaper one.
    2) To make it less clear how easy it is to get the record. Here we are, all begging friends with tickets to pick us up a copy, all by guaranteeing that it will sell out at FF. Then when the announce for any others come later, we'll both be happy that there are options and they'll have 1-2 less variants to sell through.
    3) Reinforces the "go visit the label IG/FB/Twitter", that's where you get the information, not through some random VC forum post that's better put together than what the Intern did in 2 days.

Thank you. Appreciated. Keep me posted. And no worries if not able to.
I attended last year's FF and it was a bit of a hassle to get vinyl there. Luckily for us, we drove to AL, so it wasn't too big an issue traveling back. I'm bummed I can't attend this year but things in life are in the way with family health issues and work.

Can't we all just have our own opinions without trying to be the most clever at shitting on another person? I'm not on anyone's side in this debate. There just seems to be a lot of wasted energy here. I guess it's just the internet... Be kinder, folks. I hope Topshelf can pull themselves outta this mess.

Let's do the random drawing. DM me if you want in and clarify if you want Dead Poetic, Life In Your Way, or both). To clarify, if you win the first drawing on Friday of FF, you will not be eligible for the second drawing on Saturday.

Glad to see it. As much as I am looking forward to this album, pressing 5000 copies for BF RSD is a bold move. These are going to be around for awhile.

I’ll be at FF thankfully, so I am happy to help people out. I am going to try to buy Embodyment and Blindside for myself, but I am not interested in the other two. I’m happy to try to pick up the Obi strips though and pass them on. Maybe I’ll just do a random drawing for whoever is interested? Any other ideas so that I can give everyone a fair chance?

We're also talking about some PVC with grooves on it. They aren't preventing you from accessing clean drinking water or some shit...

Solid State/Unoriginal Vinyl have announced their exclusives this year.

Dead Poetic - "Four Wall Blackmail"
Life In Your Way - "Waking Giants"
Embodyment - "The Narrow Scope Of Things"

If anyone wants to help me out and pick these up for me I'd appreciate it! I LOVE Solid State Records and want to keep my catalog complete! Doesn't sound like these will be available afterwards (besides MAYBE leftovers).

I’m going to FF and Silence will be #1 on my list personally. I’m anxious about getting one for myself, but if I can get extras, I’ll try. I’m sure more variants are coming, but with a different cover.

Gonna throw my request in here too.  Will gladly pay double the price for Blindside if someone can hook me up after the guys who asked before me.  Thanks!

“Silence” has gotta be one of them. I even heard on a podcast with the FF guys and they said one of the vinyl exclusives is a band from Sweden.

    Hey All,

Long time poster, first time presser!

I recently started a new music passion project called New Aesthetic, and fulfilled a long-standing dream of pressing my own record.
The result is 'Highway Disillusions' and I've got a small /300 pressing. I put a lot of work into the presentation and really love how everything came out:

Records are up in my webstore here: https://newaesthetic.bigcartel.com/
Pricing at cost + $3 for shipping supplies as this is purely for the love of it.

100% self-produced in my home studio.
The album is streaming now with the usual suspects (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.), or up for free download on Bandcamp: https://linktr.ee/newaesthetic

I also self-produced two music videos, which are up on YouTube:

For Fans Of: Sunny Day Real Estate, Pity Sex, Nothing, Title Fight, Ovlov, and Balance & Composure (according to Spotify algorithms...)

Greatly appreciate any listens, this was a hugely fulfilling project for me!
