Go to a thrift shop and buy a single lp, w inners.  If they have a gatefold, buy it as well.  Get to measuring.

Sorry sir for all the frustration this thread has caused. I have taken the time to do some solid calculations, and used your helpful graph as well:

After intense pondering I have come to the conclusion that a stack of 50 records is the same width as a single record. Proof:

I am sorry the rest of the board wasn't as willing to help. I hope you find this information useful.

How do they intend to store the records? When you say stack of 50 records I think of the top picture

No. You still want to know the depth of a stack of records. I don't think you're an actual carpenter.

Why would you suppose any of us know this off the top of our heads?  We are not carpenters, nor do we collect records to stack them 50 high to measure them  This is why your question is not being taken seriously.  Another reason, as I and others have shown, is that this information can be easily found with the tiniest bit of research, which as the person responsible for creating this storage, we'd think you'd be interested in putting the effort forth to find.

Rather than wasting YOUR time making annoying comments at those of us here to not discuss carpentry, why don't you go to a record store or goodwill store or pound some keyboard keys and find your own answer?

i thought this thread couldn't get any less intelligent with the title being "width of records"
but then OP went ahead and proved he doesn't know the definition of width.

In 15-20 years, HBO is going to produce a documentary about VNYL featuring interviews from former employees who defected from the Venice store. They'll talk about how no one has seen Teal in several years and Nick Alt's lawyers will refute the rumors by saying she is happy, well, and busy curating at their private Long Beach base.

Boring judgemental assholes exist everywhere, you should've just said, "See ya later dude," and walked away. You don't have to interact with shitty people.

I know that variants are usually kind of bullshit, sort of like using a glittery lure to catch a fish, but I'm still attracted enough to them to try and pick them up even though occasionally I am critical of myself for doing so.  The added layer of Susan G. Komen, however, just seems like bullshit overload to me.  Such a scammy nonprofit.  Are these releases actually affiliated with Komen, or are these artists legitimately trying to bring awareness/help to the issue?  Are some of the proceeds being donated?

Alright. Online petition won't do anything. You'd need exponentially more than 100 people to make Konami care.
And this is just a douchey side note but the way you type makes me feel like I'm on Myspace again.

100 signatures? That'll convince the same company who canned PT to do something.

he's trying to make it look like a joke after 5 pages of people goofing on him, but look at his Discogs seller page and it's pretty obvious the first post was 100% serious. it's a classic brag backfire. a bragfire, if you will.

This is what money does to hobbies. Instead of seeing the joy in it people see the financial gain/loss in it. Just enjoy the music/records/art for crying out loud.
