Just moved to a new apartment, so here is my set-up.

    Speakers:

    Gear:

    Just hung up these posters:

A bit more record storage under the TV:

I LOVE how versatile these Expedits are. Still need to hang some fabric on the back of the TV stand Expedit to hide the wires better. Also need to hang pictures on the wall behind the TV, but other than that the living room is starting to feel like home.

BTW - Product page went up for this: http://schiit.com/products/mani-phono-stage

I may get one to swap into my system. Given that Schiit always provides excellent sounding products at their price points, I'd expect this to sound better than the built-in phono stage on my preamp. Who knows though.

I've heard the entire Schiit line and have owned most of their products at one point or another. Value for money, you cannot beat Schiit. They've even managed to take the value proposition out of DIY. It's to the point that I'm ordering a Ragnarok and Yggdrasil blind without hearing them first (although all of the RMAF impressions have been spectacular).

Need this badly. The first was one of the best hip-hop albums to come out in years. Actually got a Fool's Gold copy, and then had to buy the UK press for the extra Q-Bert track and remixes.

Saw them most recently at Outside Lands and they brought out Q-Bert to do a song. Even my non-hip-hop friends with me could not deny how awesome they were.

The MoFi Weezer records sound fantastic. Actually, MoFi has been on a roll in the last few years with their releases.

MKA, I live about an hour north (Winston Salem) of  you and can keep an eye on locally if you like. I have seen a few Technics around here for less than 400 from time to time.

This is not to deter you from the UTurn. I like that TT and recommend it highly. The detractors are probably mad they paid 500 for a similar model and now there is one for 150.

So I just moved on the 1st and used this opportunity to rearrange my setup. I had previously been using Expedits, but grew tired of having to tilt my neck to find records. I ended up building a couple of those record store style LP bins so that lets me flip through records.

I had a bunch of friends over a couple of days ago, and people couldn't help but flip through records and pull stuff to ask about or listen to. That never ever happened with the Expedits, as it just was too much trouble squinting your eyes to read the spines. Anyway, pretty happy about how they turned out.

    EDIT:

In case anyone is interested, I got the plans from this thread: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=337891

Cost me under $50 in materials for each bin (the sheet of plywood being $40 of it). Took a couple of hours screwing everything together. I had the hardware store do the main cuts, and did the smaller cuts at home using a circular saw.

Ha! I wish that were an original. It's actually the Music Matters reissue -- not sure if that's the 33rpm or 45rpm pictured (I have both). Sounds ridiculously good though. I'd recommend any of the Music Matters series if you're into Blue Notes, and the new 33rpm series has been great (of the six that they've released so far).
