I ordered 3 items... 2 should ship right away, the third, The Strokes, has a ship date of the end of August.  That one I guess I may worry about, but I am not geting why these would all be being canceled... or are you guys talking about something from earlier in the thread?

Original price tag is forty dollars?! Do people think that's a good price? And don't start with 'It's been oop for years' or 'do you now what OGs go for'. It's a single LP wrapped in paper.
Anyway, reaally happy for anyone who waited out the night and got their hands on a copy. I'm kinda glad this one wasn't available over here and surely will grab a repress when it's comes around.

...also, whoever said they weren't that into his last two, should give Kiss Each Other Clean another shot, it really is great. Ghost in Ghost doesn't quite live up to it, but it's still ok.... anyway, .....WTF! I hope there are more of this one available on vinyl!!

I can appreciate that ajxd knows what he's talking about, but that's like saying you need to own a ferrari to go pick up groceries (not the best analogy). Sometimes lab grade solution and a $500 dollar machine is beyond the means of the casual listener. And while a RCM would be the ideal, there are economical options that will clean your records, be better than playing a dirty record, and won't trash your vinyl.
My cleaning solution consists of this.
8 parts distilled water. [$3-$5]
1 part iso prop alcohol. Buy the highest % you can (don't by the 70% get 90+%) [~$3]
2 small drops of dye/fragrance free dish soap (I think I use Green Works brand) [~$3]
For the records I use:

I spoke with the creator of the osage brush at length about cleaning after reading numerous threads on Audio Karma where the advice ranged from 'soap and tap water' to something ajxd would approve of. With most things you get what you pay for. Obviously cleaning a dirty used bin LP with a RCM and ajxd's solution would be the best way to go, but its not the only way to get a clean record in a manner that isn't going to degrade the quality of it.

If it's worth pirating, then you're saying it's worth listening to, no? And if it's worth listening to, surely it's worth supporting the artist for their creative efforts and not punishing them for something that may not be under their control? It's great that you've high-roaded your way to a justification for piracy, though. Reminds me of a thread in a subreddit devoted to a struggling cult TV show in which dozens of people admitted to pirating the DVDs in order to "send a message" to the monolithic entertainment conglomerate that didn't offer the series on Blu Ray.

Im 33 years old, have been buying vinyl for more than half of my life, and simply thought it was a good idea for this thread to get a discussion going about this. I know plenty of very very serious collectors who themselves don't own a RCM. Does that make them less serious of a collector? Do they apparently not truly care about audio care? No way in hell. So to me I just feel like that being presented as the only logical option was kinda ridiculous.
I love records and care about sound but am not an audiophile and probably never will be. I'm happy you were able to develop a cleaning formula and can afford $500 machines to clean your records, but maybe recognize that isn't something everyone is interested in AND that has nothing to do with the seriousness of their record appreciation.
And with that I think done arguing here.

A girl I met on myspace many many moons ago. Our birthdays were close, so we decided to meet for the first time at a pub that had live music 5 nights a week, and celebrate both our birthdays(lame as fuck exscuse to get laid). Half way through the night I borrow my mates house keys and take the girl back there(about a 2 minute walk from the pub). We fuck, we go back to the show enjoy the rest of the eve, then go back to her place and fuck again.
 
We end up dating for a few months. All good times. One day I notice a package for a pregnancy test on the bathroom floor. I enquired about to be told it was her room mates. Eh, whatever. All good. A few weeks later we break up, no fights or arguments. Just both went our seperate ways.
 
A few weeks after that, a friend from high school is dating the same girl. WTF. that pissed me off a bit, but whatever. No cheating involved, so I figure. Let them have their fun. Adults and all that.
 
They break up after a few months and he's having a party to celebrate. Apparently they didn't end on good terms. So the party is going well, bands in one corner, beers being drank on the roof. As the nights winding down I kinda sneak off and take a shit on the inside of his oven door. Revenge shit, is the best kind of shit! Close it back up, and leave as calmly as I arrived.
 
Next morning I get a call from him...did you shit in my oven? Laughing uncontrolably I say yes, because it's hilarious. Bad news for him, he was hungover, and wanted to make breakfast, turned the oven on to heat up, and baked my turd in the process.

It was during this phone call he told me why they broke up. He paid for an abortion. He wanted to have the kid, she didn't.

I only ask because I recently shelled out over $200 for my "white whale" and I want to not feel like an idiot.

The last 10+ years of Everclear (well, really Art's desperate bid to stay a "rock star") have made me ashamed for ever liking this band in the first place. I actually interviewed him years ago around S&F. He was already a bit dickish even then, but damn intelligent at the same time. (And his hatred of Bush really amused me.) Anyway, it was easy to tell that that attitude could curdle into full-blown douchebaggery once the sales dried up.
 
S&F *should* be repressed as it's a fantastic record... Great songs and almost punk production, not near as glossy as the stuff to follow. Similar to A Boy Named Goo. The years and years of cheese make you forget how good those bands USED to be....
