  1. I watched this for awhile on the first day, what the fuck is this democracy bullshit? Boo democracy. Death to democracy.
  2. That's usually where my packages enter limbo for a few days, but mine hasn't moved from Boston yet. Oh well, soon.
  3. It's probably this. Pat from Self Defense/Drug Church addressed Dads shit talk on the SDF tumblr. He said they approach their band from a business oriented perspective and it rubs some PUNX the wrong way.
  4. I remember them saying that their plan was to slowly press their back catalog. Whether or not that happens, we'll see. Considering how fast Goodnight Alchemy sold its not like there'd be much of a financial risk.
  5. Finally got that stupid Pitchfork player to actually play this. Holy shit, album owns. As soon as I actually have some money I'm ordering the fuck out of it.
  6. Being reminded of MLIW's Witness almost made me go back and change my vote. If I could stage dive every time I listened to that album it would have won.
  7. It's a damn fine album. I've been listening to it for 10 years now, which is why I picked it over TWIABP. It edged out WATR by a bit because I have it on vinyl so I've been listening to it more often. I'd call them alt-country if that didn't make them sound super lame. I'd say at least check out the songs Devil in Mexico, Killbot 2000, and Until Morale Improves the Beatings Will Continue
  8. Murder by Death - Who Will Survive and What Will Be Left of Them Runners up: The World is a Beautiful Place and I am No Longer Afraid to Die - Whenever, If Ever Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely Estate) - What it Takes to Move Forward Botch - We Are the Romans On an unrelated note, I just realized I completely blanked on Pig Destroyer - Terrifyer for the letter T. Actually, it looks like everyone blanked on it so I think we can agree that's the true winner.
  9. I wanted to see if it was possible to spoil The Sixth Sense for someone in the year 2011. It actually worked once in 2012.
  10. That's a huge bummer. Still grabbed a bunch of cool stuff. Edit: Aw, no White Octave either
  11. I'm working on a Whenever, If Ever collection so if you happen to score any extra I'd be down for one.
  12. Donuts own but I prefer them without sprinkles. Am I a monster or does anyone else feel this way?
  13. This is a few pages back, but this is the first I've been back to the thread. Selfie was taken because I was bored waiting at my girlfriend's office to take her to pick her car up at the shop. She was the only one there or I'd have kept my hoodie on.
  14. I have to keep my beard trimmed for work, otherwise it'd be "this guy might be homeless" status still. Also, sorry for not actually being Bruce Willis. How dope would that be?
  15. I really wish Midnight-ish EST was when everything dropped. I am always awake at midnight. During the day I'm either at work or asleep. Sometimes I get lucky and take a break at the right moment and can order on my phone, usually not though.
  16. Oh wow, I'm just used to you guys waiting for the dust to settle before releasing the numbers. I think it was Is Survived By you said you were sending out all the orders and then making an official count.
  17. Damn, preorders go up WITH the pressing info. Must have been holding on to these for a minute.
  18. I hate fests and I don't like most of the bands playing but I kinda want to go just to say "Oh yeah, I went to the Circa Survive, Pianos Become the Teeth, DMX show over the weekend." Although last time I went to a show with DMX on the bill, the venue waited like two hours for him to show up before being like "We guess DMX isn't coming..."
  19. The Party Down movie is the new Arrested Development Movie/Season 4. We'll hear about it from time to time, but it'll be kept back because of scheduling forever. Then it'll feel lackluster when it finally happens.
  20. I could never find the perfect Bruce Willis picture, but I just remembered bearded Bruce Willis wearing a yamaka.
  21. Literally every time I post I think "Ugh, I need an avatar because I look like a jackass." But then it takes me longer than 30 seconds to think of something and I give up.
  22. It sounds like this didn't JUST happen, right? Because, god damn, that shit is scary. I hope your friend is ok and if not you can encourage him to get some help. Depression can be fucking brutal.
  23. Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone (Cream/Green). I remember missing out on the colored preorder and being bummed about it. Drove down to Brooklyn for one of their album release shows. Picked up the LP for $10 assuming it was black. Getting home and opening it up to see it was the colored version was an awesome feeling. Explosion in the Sky - How Strange, Innocence. A friend hit me up on twitter to confirm my mailing address and told me to make sure I was home the next day around noon. Door rang, I signed for a package, and was just really confused. Opened it up and almost passed out. David Lynch - Eraserhead Soundtrack Deluxe Edition. No real luck involved in this one, I just feel lucky to have it because it's such an insane package. Screenprinted/numbered outer sleeve, a handful of beautiful prints of stills from the film, giant foldout poster, and a 7" with "In Heaven Everything is Fine" Every Time I Die - Hot Damn! Got this back when Suburban Home pressed it. It's one of my favorites so I'm really glad I did considering it never got another pressing. There are a lot of records I want to smack myself for not buying when I had the chance, luckily this isn't one of them. Islands - Return to the Sea. Walked into a local shop and saw this sitting in the "Recently In" used section. Bought it on a whim, I liked the album a lot but hadn't listened to it in a couple years, and didn't really have much int he way of record buying money. Found out later it's a little bit hard to come by. Converge - No Heroes (Gold) Back in the didn't get to pick your variant on Deathwish (actually, I think this only changed recently). So when I preordered No Hereos I just had to hope I was in the first 500. Seeing the spray painted mailer show up on my doorstep was fucking awesome. I actually held onto that mailer forever but I think it got lost in my last move. Touche Amore - Touche Amore (First press White). Back before To the Beat...came out I had only heard OF this band when I saw this in a clearance bin for like $2. Glad I picked it up because this is another one that, while not impossible to find, it's a bit more expensive than $2 to acquire. Trophy Scars - Goodnight Alchemy. This one sold out pretty fucking fast so I'm lucky I have a girlfriend who was willing to stalk and refresh their merch page relentlessly to pick this up for me. The Appleseed Cast - End of the Ring Wars The Appleseed Cast - Mare Vitalis The Appleseed Cast - Peregrine These TAC records don't go cheap and they are yet again purchases I made on a whim. I wasn't in love with the band when I bought these, but now that I am I'm super l don't have to pay a premium for these.
