  1. The first Trailer Park Boys movie was weird because it tried to exist outside the show and be completely stand alone. Then Countdown to Liquor Store Day owned because it was just a really long episode. Say Goodnight to the Bad Guys really was just an hour long episode but I remember it being kinda weak. Not terrible though.
  2. They don't, Dads own the rights and have been letting Flannel Gurl press it. Whatever deal they made with them only included the first pressing and after that it was pretty much Dads giving the ok for each pressing. This really sucks for Flannel Gurl and it's a shitty move, but sadly there's nothing FG can do about it.
  3. I didn't get any candy canes. Tre, please yell at someone for this. Everything about this release owns and is of the highest quality. Can't stop spinning it.
  4. That is literally what being a consumer means. As long as I end up getting the record I honestly do not care how long it takes. Yeah, preorders that stretch into almost a a year long wait suck, but shit happens.
  5. This is incredibly vague and could really mean ANYTHING in terms of a timeline (and it could always fall through), but Clint Mansell told someone on twitter that The Fountain is going to happen. That's better than nothing I guess. Seriously my favorite score of all time and one of my Top 10 favorite movies of all time. Also, got my black copy of Solaris(2002) from Amazon and it sounds amazing.
  6. Ordered from them a handful of times over the last 5-6 years and never had a problem. Last time I ordered from them I got a free Rot in Hell LP in my order for some reason, so that was dope.
  7. and number them /58 so its the RAREST. Fuck off all nerds. I really don't see the problem with them selling a few boxsets with the 2nd press variants. Maybe auction one off with a full set of test presses? Do anything besides "nothing" really.
  8. Burn the boxes and press the ashes into the next set of Toe represses.
  9. To be fair, that article in the OP is super pathetic and embarrassing and deserves as much ridicule as possible.
  10. I'm down with an hour long song if it has a reason to be. My favorite album of next year ends with 10 minutes of the vocalist yelling "All the dumb cocks/cunts/cops get what they want" and then 20 minutes of a former porn star talking about her life experiences. I like La Dispute but a lot of time I feel like their songs go on a bit too long. This is probably the mildest criticism in the whole thread.
  11. Their songs are too long and their lyrics are embarrassing out of context. There are way worse bands out there though. Of course, I haven't listened to them in over a year because every time I think about them I just listen to Mewithoutyou's first two albums instead.
  12. I know they were saying January, but was there ever an "official" release date? Because as of yesterday it was released on spotify/itunes and the vinyl/cd are shipping in December.
  13. 1. The World is a Beautiful Place and I Am No Longer Afraid to Die - Whenever, If Ever 2. Self Defense Family - Try Me 3. Drug Church - Paul Walker 4. Caravels - Lacuna 5. Crash of Rhinos - Knots 6. The Saddest Landscape/My Fictions - When You Are Close, I am Gone 7. The Saddest Landscape - Exit Wounded 8. One Hundred Year Ocean - Where Were You While We Were Getting High/It's Not Punk, But We're Getting Close 9. Touche Amore - Is Survived By 10. I Kill Giants - I Kill Giants 11. Self Defense Family - All splits and EPs they put out 12. Have Mercy - The Earth Pushed Back 13. Rob - Maniac (2012) Score 14. Old Gray - An Autobiography This is pretty much just a list of 2013 releases I actually bought. I might like Topshelf Records just a little bit.

  15. I'm also assuming that. Probably going to pick up the Pink one after Christmas. Can't pass up pink vinyl, but wanted to get the clear/black first.
  16. I lucked out and was refreshing occasionally so I grabbed this and checked out maybe 10-15 minutes before the Black Friday sale started. Then I found out the headphone jack on my laptop is broken, so I had to download itunes to put this album on my phone. On track 3 right now. Serious AOTY contender already.
  17. They started shipping them out yesterday (Monday). No idea if they're sending out confirmation/tracking but I haven't gotten anything yet.
  18. Yeah, Synecdoche New York is some serious "Top 5" shit. It manages to blow me away (and depress the hell out of me) no matter how many times I watch it.
  19. I used to feel this way about Christian music. Then I realized "Who the fuck cares?" and that Beloved and Mewithoutyou both own.
  20. I've been to the last four of their events and am still pissed I did't know about their first four because I missed out on some insane movies. This is the only think like it around here though. I wish there were theaters that would show older movies regularly. The arthouse place does maybe one classic a year, but I got to see Stop Making Sense on 35mm so that was awesome.
  21. Went to a Horror/Exploitation/Etc marathon yesterday (Hudson Horror Show, if anyone is in the Hudson Valley area). 5 movies all from 35mm prints with old trailer reels before each film. Invasion of the Bee Girls: 70s sexploitation/sci-fi written by the guy who wrote/directed Stark Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. It's about "an army of beauties who seduce men to death." Hilarious and full of boobs. A lot of fun if you're into "bad" movies. Pumpkinhead: Not a great movie, just merely ok. This was their "Mystery Movie" so I was a little bummed when "A Stan Winston Film" popped up on the screen because I had watched it a couple weeks ago. I think this is the only movie he ever directed and it would've been cool if he did some more. Horror Express: Low budget British horror film about a mummified ape/man thing killing people on a train (it gets more ridiculous than that but I'm not down with spoilers). My least favorite of the day, but it was still fun seeing Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee on the big screen. Telly Savalas is more entertaining in his 5 minutes of screen time than the rest of the movie. Suffered a little bit by being the mid point of the marathon though. I always end up taking a 10 minute nap halfway through the 3rd film. Escape From New York: I really don't need to say anything about this. Peak John Carpenter/Kurt Russell with an awesome soundtrack and a ton of great actors. A crowd that applauds and cheers Tom Atkins appearing on screen is a good crowd. The Thing: Same as EFNY. Peak Carpenter/Russell. Gore and creature effects from this movie will never not own. A handful of people in the crowd had never seen it before, judging from the few legit screams during the defibrillator scene One of these days I'll go to one of these shows when I actually have money. Tons of vendors with awesome rare/obscure dvds and bootlegs. Art prints, shirts, vinyl, all that good shit (I'm "whatever" about the action figures and shit though). Oh and I won a copy of the Insidious Chapter 2 soundtrack on vinyl. Dudes who run the show give away so much free shit it always gets to the point where they give up on doing trivia questions and just start throwing shirts into the audience The stuff they shouldn't throw they say what it is and then just give it to whoever looks like they want it the most.
  22. Derrick needs to stop touring and just wait outside the pressing plant for these to be done. Waiting sucks, but BWM are legit so it's not like they're pulling an MTS/TOYPAJ.
  23. I did the exact same thing on my first listen of the B-side (which I started with because I was so hyped) I actually just found out I've been listening to toe's Songs, Ideas We Forgot at the wrong speed for weeks. I think I prefer it at 33rpms to be honest.
