available on tour, per Porches' FB
-
confirmed available on the upcoming tour. i'd assume for $10.
-
i'd assume they'll have copies on tour, so if you can make it out, you'd save the 7 bucks on shipping.

Newbie question. Opening a new record.

wear skinny jeans (have to be skinny, mind you, or at least super slim) and rub the record across your thigh (best done when standing and flexing ur quads, it just is). rub until you give yourself a mild friction burn, or you'll risk failing entirely at this method. if you follow these steps, u should perforate the cellophane (or cellophone, if you prefer) across the mouth of the sleeve. u can pop the record out and throw it away. also, newest from Team K-sack -

p4k is saying it's 3 songs: "“Slide on Me” also features guitar work from Alex G, who contributed guitar to “Wither” and “Rushes” as well." what's #4? -
PO Soon: As Cities Burn - Come Now Sleep

i said the band, too. and they're not signed to T&N and haven't been for at least 6 years. they get (fully deserved) royalties as songwriters/performers on the album, but the master copy of the record isn't owned by T&N, let alone the band/its members. so T&N pays to license the masters (raising the overall cost of final product) for a pressing and ACB sees royalties based on the terms of the contract. meager, according to Aaron, and not at all surprising. profit is a bit of stretch, since bands rarely benefit from posthumous (re-)pressings of records. -

plot twist: the band doesn't have any control over recordings made under contract and sees little-to-no royalties from them. -

feel the same way, and aside from a few standouts (Katie Dey, Benoit), i'm a little bit underwhelmed. gonna give it a few more listens, naturally, so we'll see where things go. -

per T&N on FB, the original $25 price was an error. they're reducing the intended price of $33 to $29 now, though. -

i actually kind of like how the green and blue variants sit with the nearly monochrome cover. grabbed a green to join (and most likely replace) my clear. first time with multiple variants of the same record, but it's a top-10 all time album for me so i can justify it for now -

interested to see that tour splatter. will probably just keep my 1st pressing tho and maybe add a tape. -
is the lyrical work on this one any better than on Nobody Wants to Be Here? music was fine, if not a blander version of Interpol, but i couldn't get over how each text was just a handful of vague, meaningless phrases cobbled together and repeated ad nauseam. i want to like this band but it hasn't worked out so far...

definitely strong competition -
This is not a joke. I saw death cab for cutie and the jealous sound play a attic in 2001. I've seen TWIABP play basements. if you think you understand emo and only buy Brand New 1-song 12"s that cost $15+ you're a warped tour basic. if you've never been told awkwardly by the band to "move up" before the first song, you don't know emo. If you've never sung into the second mic with a bunch of your friends at a show, you don't know emo. if you've never run into the middle of a set to spooge on a record, you don't know emo.

PO: Alex G - DSU (Orchid Tapes)
copelandkid replied to cwhitmuzik's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
alex has disavowed monsterhead as being his creation – it's just a fan-made, entirely arbitrary collection of unreleased tracks (cuz he's got wayyy more than just the 13 that apparently make up the release according to discogs). but RACE and WINNER could use a reissues for sure! -

anywhere to grab the colored vinyl with cheaper shipping than $7.50? domino drives me insane with the shipping prices for what they divulge is "media mail," but they keep dropping great records so... -
