  1. Of course, by all means...just trying to temper the expectations for those expecting a return to 90s form.
  2. Any GGD of the 90s can ignore everything above...this EP is more of the same garbage they've been churning out forever. I can't believe I thought for a split second this would even be halfway decent.
  3. Agreed. Didn't buy Hang-ups due to this...do you know if it was as bad? Self-titled is unlistenable. I sure hope these two are done better. Scratch that...just saw in another thread that you didn't buy it, either. Good man.
  4. I didn't do any critical listening, but I thought the LPs from the box set sounded excellent as well. I couldn't believe that "f-ing up takes practice" was censored on Only One, though. It's subtle, but it's certainly censored. I forgot to check my stand alone copy. Nothing like waiting 20 years to release a million seller only to somehow use the radio edit of a single. I couldn't believe it.
  5. You may be better served asking for information at the site below: http://www.45cat.com/record/45321 Odds are it is still a DJ copy. They don't always have promo verbiage printed on the label. For example: http://www.45cat.com/record/45356us

  7. My thoughts as one of the old fart collectors around here... Is it a large hole USA pressing? Or a small hole UK-type pressing? You say it has the record info on the other side of the photo, you don't remember any of that info? The dead wax inscriptions (or lack thereof) would be a good start as to what exactly this is. But some sort of item they mailed out before they signed to a label...which is what I think you're suggesting...is unlikely. Her fanbase is rabid enough that you'd find it documented online somewhere already. My guess is that it's a bootleg. If it 's legit, I'd expect it to be a test pressing...especially if it's a small hole record...but for the labels to be blank/clean, I'd hold my breath on it being something legit. (For example, can you imagine a band promoting their music in the 90s/00s by sending out a CD-R with a press sheet and not writing on the disc?) But anything is possible! If you find out more info, please post it.
  8. THANK YOU. Before I realized this was actually re-released, I made an offer on one on eBay a day or two ago for $34 since the guy had 5 of them at $38. So glad the greedy fucker countered at $36.

  10. Superstar Car Wash on vinyl has been a dream of mine for 24 years now. Paying through the nose for a limited copy and having to re-buy the other four albums in the box just seems appropriate.
  11. I didn't know that your channel, Dan, that's awesome! I just started digging into it the other day pretty heavily when I was looking for Meat Wave live clips. Noticed that eyeball drum kit a few times, whose is it?
  12. It's up https://megamart.subpop.com/releases/the_afghan_whigs/in_spades
  13. Ordered the bundle and it showed up yesterday. Don't recall a shipping notice but I most certainly wouldn't have been looking for one, either.
  14. Here it is on Discogs...should be a mid to late 80s pressing. Can't imagine it's worth a whole lot. https://www.discogs.com/Grand-Funk-Live-Album/release/9226234
  15. No, it's called a 'record changer' and I'm not aware of any currently being produced.
  16. They scammed me, too. I opened a Paypal case and that finally got a reply from the label, giving me some vague line about all the problems they had with the U.S. orders. But I LOST the case with Paypal because they gave them a tracking number that was most certainly unrelated to my order...if it was even real at all...and Paypal closed the case. Unbelievable. So you're not getting your records, either, I'm afraid.
  17. I'm going to send you a private message regarding another site that may be of use to you in your search.
  18. You didn't mention if you meant the version on side 1 or 2 but regardless, both of mine play through flawlessly.
  19. I'd buy the used, regular discs every time. In the 80s, some picture discs had this printed right on them, and rightfully so: "Sound quality of this picture disc may not be comparable to that of a conventional record"
  20. The packaging on these releases is top notch all the way around. But unfortunately I'm finding this stuff borderline unlistenable. I guess lathe cuts aren't for me.
  21. This excellent album is currently on sale for $5.99 http://selfawarerecords.storenvy.com/collections/13827-all-products/products/371427-old-flings-spite-12-lp-3rd-pressing
  22. I'd buy this for sure unless the sound is putrid like the Goldfinger S/T. Has all the SRC stuff been just as bad?
