The longer the turnaround time the more sense it makes for an early pre-order. If it takes 7 months to get a record pressed that's 7 months the label has a large sum of money tied up. If the label is small enough or stretched thin enough having that money essentially in limbo could cause them to have to delay other pressings. If a label has thousands of dollars invested in a product they won't see for more than half a year that's money they don't have to get the ball rolling on other projects.
I don't care about how long a pre-order takes to get to me as long as there's communication from the label regarding it. Keep people informed and they'll, hopefully, be more understanding.

Did anybody else get an almost clear copy? My second disc is essentially clear with a few pink flecks, super cool.

I just don't understand the impulse to make these crazy-looking mock ups if you're not sure you can deliver something at least close with the final product. You're just setting people up for disappointment.

Alright, so I had some thoughts on a simple insert that I could provide the files for, and you could print out anywhere you like for less than $2.
 
I was thinking something that is a standard 11x17" GLOSS PAPER that you would fold in half.  File would be printed in black and white to stay on theme, and keep costs down.
 
One side has all of the lyrics, and the very important dedication to Timothy Jordan II that is SOMEHOW LEFT OUT of this.  (unreal)
 
The other side is a take on the tunnel pic inside the original liner notes, and used for the album art from "The EP" - this is not the same tunnel, but just an idea inspired from that.  It then features the line from the end of Timothy - "Take me back to where I was before I was born."
 
Since anywhere you take this to for printing would not be able to do full bleed, I kept everything with a white background, and textures that do not bleed over the edge.  Nothing would have to be fit to page, nothing would have awkward print lines around the edges, and as I said before, cheap, easy, and sharp.

NOTHING is used from the original layout, nothing is stolen from the original artist.  Since I would just be providing the print files needed to print this, there would be no money exchanging hands, so I can't imagine this being anything that would get anyone in trouble, just something to enhance a product alot of us care about so much.

Mine came absolutely perfect not a single scratch or ding. No seem split or anything and came unwarapped also. Must have been protected by the love of Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Glory glorious! Halahuja

Mine just showed up - luckily no splits - happy to finally have a copy of my all-time favorite record.
 
Tempted to design an insert for this and offer it up for cost+shipping to anyone that wants it, or just provide the file you could then go print out yourself at kinkos.  If anyone may be interested in this, let me know!

Just got mine, on side B now. Sounds great, really great. Not 180g but not flimsy by any means. This is definitely it.

I blew it.

I loved their first album and remember when this album came out on CD, I never listened to it because i remember not being a fan of it because of the style change. However, I never actually gave it a listen. I figured since it has now been about 7 years I might listen to it with a more mature perspective, I also figured it would sell out so I wanted to act quick. Then I listened and I almost threw up from the Jesus preaching. 

Now spinning and enjoying. Sounds good to me. Boring packaging considering the potential.

I honestly might not even want mine. I made it to the second song where they were saying "glory glorious" and hit the stop half way through. I know they are a Christian band but some of them are more subtle at it. This feels more fit to be played in church youth groups than my house.

I really wanted them to do a deluxe release of the record on vinyl with gatefold artwork and detailed fold out posters or lyric inserts because the packaging is just so good.

This will be available next year.
