The argument when a label sells for above retail is usually "well if they sell it for cheap, people will just buy and flip it, so why not have the money go to people who actually sorta deserve it". The coolest thing a label could do would be to seek out brand new collectors who need this and will not flip it (at least not immediately, every record gets sold eventually). What they are doing is better than just randomly selling it to people who will flip it, though.

There were 1200 Shit Out Of Luck LP's with 300 tour editions to total 1500 and there were 1000 regular CD's with 300 tour editions to total 1300 CD's
I'm wanting the Lillingtons box set to wholesale for around $70.00 but a majority of these will be mail ordered through Interpunk.
All 6 LP's were cut this last weekend and the lacquers were sent off and the plates should be coming back in a couple of weeks.
Spent an hour on the phone (Skype)  last night with Mathew Dunn (the artist in Australia) who's doing the artwork to get everything finalized.
Got the prototype of the box all the LP's will be housed in yesterday and this release will be epic.

Rewatched Kill List last night, if anybody hasn't seen it, I highly recommend a viewing.  It teeters between being a really pretty movie and being a really gritty dirtball of a film.  By the end I can't tell whether or not I need to hug my family or take the longest, hottest shower ever known to man to wipe away the filth.  Please watch this movie.

Wow. I couldn't have imagined anybody would dignify that with a serious response. Of course that would all happen and make it not worth it. That whole thing with that record getting repressed has been a shit show, and just the thought of somebody coming in and undercutting the whole thing was funny to me.
Also, just to play devil's advocate here, why is everyone assuming the OP was actually hoping to bootleg something himself? I've almost been curious enough about the subject to ask here before, strictly out of curiosity because of the Euro bootleg of Quicksand - Slip and the many bootlegs of Tool - Aenima. Given all the scary legal implications, it just seems like their existence shouldn't be possible. I guess I didn't realize there would even be pressing plants in countries without copyright laws.

You need a pressing plant in need of extra money. Most of these come out of Europe. Small time ops where people buy presses and don't care what comes off of 'em.

Agreed. People should not be passing on these at $5. I hated when they changed their name but understood why they did it. The other Split Lip was awful. I remember my friend Louise buying one of their 7"s accidentally, coming home super excited and then getting really pissed. She went back to the shop to get her $2 back. The shop owner, also a friend, smashed the record against a wall as he yelled "I'm sick of people returning this fucking thing".

This user "konk" sees my post, lets me know he's got a couple of the records I want, I make him an offer, he accepts, we go through with the transaction, all is well.  He, then, sends me a ten dollar refund because he tells me he saw the Hey Mercedes record on eBay for ten dollars cheaper.  This is the definition of a class act.  Seriously, I will give this guy all of my money for records for the rest of my life.  So, my dude, if you see this, that was the coolest thing, and everyone should buy from you.  Thanks.

Anyways, thanks for all of your feedback and for all of you that got back to me about some of the stuff I wanted, I promise these will be going to a nice loving home.  Where they'll be spun.  All day.
