    Hi Matt!
    I'm the friend from Portland that Scott Heisel mentioned above.
    Before attending his wedding I did indeed drive all the way to Warren, Ohio to see the town where Dave Grohl grew up... and the ridiculous alley behind the Burger King that is dedicated to him. I have to say, it was totally worth the 2 hour round trip.
    So, as a big fan of Dave and the Foo Fighters I'd like to formally throw my hat into the ring.
    I've been a fan of Dave Grohl since the Nirvana days. While all the girls and boys were fawning over Kurt Cobain, I was quitely crushing over that amazingly talented drummer with the toothy smile. His sense of humor and kindess over the years has only intensified my crush. But... not in a scary way or anything. He is just the best, and I can't help but adore the man.
    I don't really have a heartfelt story to share. So, I'll just tell this one:
    Back in 2000 when I lived in Chicago I was unable to get tickets to the sold out Foo Fighters Halloween radio show with Queens of the Stoneage at The Metro, which I'm not sure if you know is a really small venue for a band of their size. I was heart broken and did everything I could think of to get tickets. When the radio station announced that their sponsor, Budweiser, would be holding events at bars all over the city where you could win tickets I made sure to attend every. single. one. I did some things I'm not proud of in attempt to win those tickets; and after seeing me every night one of the Budweiser reps took pity on me and gave me VIP passes to the event! The night of the show came and a friend and I went early and made sure to get barricade. The Foos came out dressed as Cheap Trick and played "Hello There", and we were front and center, so Dave Grohl was about 10 feet away! I was in heaven. Later in the set when they played "Stacked Actors" Dave started wandering around the venue with his guitar as he is known to do; climbing up into the balcony, drinking someones beer, guitar soloing on the sound board and then eventually right inbetween my friend and I at the front of the floor. We helped him over the barricade back onto the stage... and I got a handful of Dave Grohl butt.
    I was super fangirling.
    It was a fantastic show and worth all of my efforts.
    A+++ would do it all again.
    That's it.
    I would never say that I deserve to see them over anyone else, but I can assure you that if you chose me I would be there singing and sweating right along with you like we were a couple of teenagers.
    Oh, and if you're wondering why I don't already have a ticket to the show... it's simple... none of my Portland friends are willing to go with me, and going to a show alone is teh suck. So, at the very minimum if i could meet other Foo fans to attend future shows with, that'd be pretty cool.
    Thanks for reading,
    Lisa
    P.S. Here is a super cool photo of me at Dave Grohl Alley attempting to do that awkward pose that guys do in front of their cars.

    TWIN PEAKS & TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME - The Owls are exactly what they seem. We're happy to say Twin Peaks & Fire Walk With Me lacquers were cut last week and are currently winging their way to the plant to be turned into test pressings. The audio was transferred using the original tapes from the Warner archive and mastered for vinyl. We know it's been a long time coming but rest assured, they are on the way.

    Everyone can pee their pants with excitement now!

    //It's times like these...
    I have an extra ticket to see Foo Fighters in Washington and in Oregon. Long story short is the person I had these tickets for ripped my black heart out and left a gaping wound (Times Like These, I Should Have Known, Best of You, on infinite repeat), so I need someone who is badass to rock the fuck out with me, cause hell if I'm letting a little misery ruin Foo for me. I've been thinking about who I should give the tickets to, but I honestly don't know. I don't want to sell them, and I don't want to bring some random person along. As you already know, or can probably tell, I am a huge Foo Fighters fan. They aren't just a band to me, they are a way of life. I've been living every one of their songs since '95. So when it came to these tickets I didn't want to just give them to any ole asshole looking to go to a show, nah, fuck that.

    I want to give these tickets to someone who wants to go to two Foo shows with me, to rock the fuck out, to scream every fucking lyric at the top of their lungs with me, to be pushing our way to the front, to have two of the best nights of our lives.

    I have these tickets in hand cause I waited hours in line to get them like any responsible super fan.

    I'm thinking the best way to go about finding the right person to join me on this epic journey.
    Let me give you for more details first, and what I'm thinking of doing. (If anyone has good ideas to help me figure out the best way of deciding, please feel free to chime in.) MOST BADASS PERSON GETS TO ROCK THE FUCK OUT!

    //Erase, Replace (Show details):

    WASHINGTON
    Who: THE FUCKING FOO FIGHTERS
    Whoelse: Gary Clark Jr.
    When: Saturday, September 12th, 2015
    Where: The Gorge Amphitheater | Quincy, Washington
    Ticket: The mother fucking lawn! We ain't seeing Foo while sitting in a seat. Are you fucking retarded!
    Price: $200? FUCK NO! Mother fucking free!!!

    PORTLAND
    Who: THE FUCKING FOO FIGHTERS AGAIN
    Whoelse: Gary Clark Jr.
    When: Monday, September 14th, 2015
    Where: Moda Center | Portland, OR
    Ticket: The mother fucking lawn again! DUH!
    Price: $200? THINK AGAIN, ASSHOLE! Mother fucking free again!!!

    //Stranger Things Have Happened (Are you serious, Matt?):
    You're probably thinking to yourself 'this is too Foo to be true'. Well, you're wrong, dip shit! This is so FOO it is true! I'm trying to make the best of shitty situation. I figured I would make someone else happy, and in turn make me happy. Selfish generosity cause fuck social norms!

    //This Is A Call (How you get a fucking ticket):
    So I will either give one ticket to one person, and one to the other, or both to one person (all depends how shit goes down [who is interested, etc.]). All I have really thought of is you tell me why the fuck you deserve to go. Tell me a meaningful story of how much the band means to you. I really want to go with someone who loves and appreciates Dave's long flowing locks as much as I do. I don't know, I don't have all the answers. Be real, be honest, be sincere. Make me laugh, tug on a heart string. Something. Whatever story I like the most will get the ticket. I don't think a lottery system is really the right way to go seeing as I really want to go with someone who will take out away as much as they can from these incredible nights.

    The fine print: I live in Portland. I don't have a car. So the Washington show will be a little tricky. We can either bus up or rent a car. I really don't care which. I'm thinking of coming back the night after the show. It's a bit of a drive, but we would be on such a Foo high that it wouldn't be shit. We got that. As far as the Portland show, that's easy, the venue is a few miles away. You can crash at my apartment*, for free, duh. The only thing is that you would have to get out here on your own dollar (I'm awesome, but not made of money). If you need to stay at my place a couple days for all this to work, fine by me. Just buy us pizza. I'll take you around Portland and show you a good time.

    *(You gotta be 18. Sorry, kids, I'm 28. I'm looking to go to a Foo show, not jail.)

    //There goes my hero (I'm your fucking hero!):
    So how 'bout it? You think you're fucking awesome enough to tag along with me to see Dave Grohl and company make your fucking life that much better? What the fuck are you waiting for? Let's go!

    I honestly have no idea if anyone will respond to this, but I figured I would post this and try to give back to the VC community, and make a Foo fan pretty fucking happy.

    //Ain't it the life:
    If you want to retweet my reply to the band about it, you can do that here:
    https://twitter.com/...744382020239361
    Who knows, maybe they will see it and something cool will happen.

    // TICKET UPDATE (8/6/15 - 11:49AM):

    So, at the moment I know that I am going to give one of the tickets to Lisa. I still want to hold off on giving her both just in case there is someone else in interested in going. I haven't decided on which show as of yet, as she is available to go to either.

    IF ANYONE IS STILL INTERESTED YOU HAVE A CHANCE! Just let me know which show, and how much of a badass you are / why you deserve to go, and we'll go from there.

    I sell cheap used records on Discogs from collections I buy. I've sold over 5,000 records this year with only 2 dick bags that caused me no stress because of the stress they caused themselves. It was quite entertaining, actually. That and the sick profit I've made, totally worth dealing with noobs who rarely, if ever, complain. This is just a side hobby, too, so it's killer pocket cash.

    My clear NOFX HOFX. Owner of I believe Hits and Misses record store, the one no longer there, put it on eBay still sealed. Not sure if it was Canadian shipping costs or what but I won it for less than common colors were going for at the time, about $60. Knowing I'd be in Toronto for NXNE in a couple months, I axed him to hold it for me so I could save the shipping. Had an awesome time at the festival, and when I got home I opened all the records I'd bought at the shows plus this. Saved the HOFX for last, and low and behold.

    I'm not sure how many on this board will even know this stuff but I know a few of you will. I used to trade records with Pushead a long time ago and he was extremely generous in our various trades. He also was quick to part with certain rarities to me because he knew I was going to keep them and not just throw them up on eBay. Here's a couple gems:

    Septic Death - Nightmare Takes a Nap box set of test pressings. This alone is super rare as only 30 were made but this one isn't like the others, note the number - number 00/30MV. This set was custom made for me and even has my initials as part of the number. It also has extras that the other versions don't have. It is a true one of a kind. I damn near shit myself when he sent me this in the mail as I had no idea it was coming.

    And related to the above is this pair:

    These are called Butcher Boxes. There was 5 made of each box. One contains various test pressings for Bacteria Sour singles (I forget which ones off the top of my head) and the other one has test pressings for all the Bacteria Sour compilations (including a rejected version of #3). I have matching boxes, both #3/5. He intentionally sent me matching ones.

    These are some of my most prized items in my collection.

    I have been picking up copies of albums that are either sold out or at least going to sell out and I have been throwing them up on my store at cost.  I make absolutely no money on any of these unless someone is kind enough to tip.

    I prefer all sales be made through the webstore
