FLCL and Akira were my longtime favorites, but I recently saw Tekkon Kinkreet and that shit blew me away.

I'm working on putting together a list of online-only vinyl record shops & I'm asking the Vinyl Collective community for your input. I've noticed a growing number of online-only shops, some with their own specialties, and as vinyl fandom continues to increase I find it important to get the word out about these shops. Of course I know of a lot of them, but I'm always learning about new ones which tells me there are a lot more out there most of us are not aware of.

Here's the criteria:
- The shop's focus must be on newly released vinyl (carrying used is fine, just as long as most of their stock is new vinyl)
- No labels, unless they distribute non-label stuff as well.
- Obviously, sites like ebay, discogs, etc. do not count

What are your favorite online vinyl shops, and do they have a specialty?

Do you think that maybe they'll release a version that comes in LP jackets, but really is a CD? Or maybe they'll do something special with the RSD version to set them apart, like mixing in their semen with the wax, a la Flaming Lips? You people are funny. RSD is only 4 days away, let the magic of surprise sweep you off your collective feet!

Facebook, and even twitter comments on labels/bands posts that are vinyl related are always the best. It's like if every new VC member who said something really stupid conglomerated in the same thread.

If I somehow manage to run across this I'll pick up a copy for someone on here, I don't really want it at all...but I doubt I'll see one, I work until 2 PM on Saturday. You never know though, I've run across stuff I didn't expect late in the day on occasion. I think I've given up on the hype of RSD though, I don't even care that I can't get there early this year.

Wegmans is a supermarket chain based out of Rochester, NY and they are AWESOME. Even the worst Wegman's is like paradise compared to most supermarkets, and the nicest Wegmans...I could spend an entire day in. It's wonderful. Also they had a weird commercial that Alec Baldwin was in.

The main complaint about the pricing is that everything Newbury has pressed is already available for cheaper. If this, or Fleet Foxes, or Bon Iver, or whatever was out of print and Newbury released these variants no one would be complaining about the prices.

Say what you will about Brand New, but their overzealous fans make for good thread-readin'.

I think what he's saying is "if you don't like the price, don't be a bitch. Don't buy it on vinyl, just listen to your digital copy and suck it up instead of whining about the price." Which neither I nor he was directing specifically at you by the way, so please don't direct your anger toward me for trying to clarify.His follow up post just solidifies that this is his point, as he talks about the other expenses involved in this hobby.
