  1. Will be hard to top that Hesitation Wounds full length, though..
  2. I figure it sucks, especially for large indie retailers when dealing with preorders like this, since they normally don't have the best, if any idea about eventual allocations of limited items. All they can do is accept preorders and see how many they'll be able to fulfill, unfortunately. So, it's not really their fault and I don't think they are to blame if an order doesn't come through. It sure sucks for both sides.
  3. I don't care about concerts being long, as long as their good. I've seen 2h concerts that sucked ass and 20min ones that were absolutely amazing. I drove three hours once to catch a just short of 30min set by Shellac and I didn't spend a minute complaining about it being too short, because it was 30 minutes of pure fucking glory.
  4. Are they no longer giving away their full discography to dl through bandcamp? I know they did last year..
  5. It's my first listen and I'm not even halfway through, so everything I could possibly say is premature. Yet, from the overall vibe and atmosphere I'm getting from the first hour of material, it's a lot closer to Seer than TBK, which I am very happy about. I mean, TBK was great, but it ultimately is a record I don't revisit very often, because of the lack of urgency/density of the material. It's almost a fun album to listen to, in Swans-terms, sure, but nonetheless it's very different in its overall atmosphere. So, my first impression is that TGM hits closer to The Seer in terms of atmospheric weight, which is the one thing that I find TBK to be sort of lacking in. And said weight and urgency is what makes The Seer the fascinating monster that it is, to me, at least. The first LP is full of sinister chit chat, droning post-everything instrumentation and this urgency! Ugh. It really is almost frightening. Still, there's some strange, almost alienating musicianship going on on side 3 right now. It's fun, kind of, with a weird wind section following Gira's every word. But it's being held down in the abyss through mean, droning guitars lingering in the back. I love it. So, to no much surprise, I feel like this album tries to tie both predecessors strenghts into one last fully blown up big bang. And, damn, I think M. Gira succeeded once more in doing so.
  6. Phew, I just drove by a poster that told me Kokomo are playing in my city this Saturday ,in a tiny DIY-place with a max. capacity of 50 and a pay-what-you-want kind of system. It's a 5 min bike ride from my work place, so that will be a nice way to call it a day.
  7. I'm afraid. But it's a good kind of afraid, I guess.
  8. People are paying double to triple the in store-price, before release date. How desperate can anyone be, really.. Just wait until street date and check your local. It's not like there's only a couple hundred of these out there.
  9. I'll have two DLCs eventually, so if by the time my US copy arrives you're still in need, it's yours.
  10. My local was promised 25 from the distro, they'll get two. Looks like supplies are slimmer than expected.
  11. @andynz I've had a 2m blue for about two years before it started wearing off and was so happy with it that I replaced the needle instead of upgrading. And yes, it might come off a bit harsh at the beginning but definitely starts mellowing out 10-15h in.
  12. I was awestruck when I first put it on the table. It looks like a standard translucent red when held against the light, but is a real beauty on my acrylic platter.
  13. Just opened my copy that I got from my local shop and was pretty surprised to find the orange crush variant /600 instead of the least limited white with splatter in there. Not a huge fan of white or heavy splatter, so it's safe to say that I'm happy about that.
  14. True, safe for their latest, which scrapps the 'loud' altogether. I like them changing things up on it, but the set was really just that ^
  15. Also some random guy spilled beer over my arm and it's all sticky now. Ew
  16. I think they're alright, I enjoy their new album. But the set was so formulaic, you just knew when the next outburst or mellow section would arrive, without knowing most of the songs. Their playing was perfect, sound was great, but it felt like watching a movie you think is okay for the twelfth time. No surprises. At all.
  17. I'm at an EITS show right now and it's boring enough to have me post this right now. Well at least it was free..
  18. Also, side a of Diary is the single most perfect 16 minutes of music I own.
