  1. It's gonna be a while before I'll actually listen to them, but considering the fact that these are 2LP's now the sound quality and specificially the bass depth should be considerably better than on the OGs.
  2. Darklands, Barbed Wire Kisses (B-Sides from early years to debut album), pretend that's all.
  3. No interest in color variants. I want these records to spin and sound as good as possible. These are two of the best albums of the nineties, no 2014 topshelf emo-lunchables that no one is ever gonna listen to anyways.
  4. I longed for these since I logged into the vinyl game eleven years ago. I cannot fucking wait to spin these and cry them tears. Also about to rearrange my entire listening area und upgrading to a Pro-Ject. This is going to be so awesome.
  5. I'm so sorry that I missed your sale Now the record's on the road And I'm left to bail
  6. Also you guys are right. Keeping stuff in print should be high priority. Really shouldn't browse while watching Big Brother. Makes me dumb and hate on things.
  7. No butthurting at all, just my impression. And while you are absolutely right about topshelf being responsible for the variant-craziness, their 1/1 variant milking-game goes on them. So everybody get happy with this new release and good luck to anyone trying to hunt all the variants down the road, it's just not for me any more I guess.
  8. I'd be happy to purchase the clear w/ splatter variant of Deafheaven's Sunbather. My favorite record of last year and such a lovely piece to own besides my pink/yellow listening copy.
  9. While still enjoying their debut full length, I've kinda grown to dislike the band and their release/money-making policies. This whole "let's put out thirty+ variants of every note we record"-strategy is an unsympathetic way to go imo. I'm not remotely into variant collecting, so my dismay doesn't have anything to do with being frustrated by having an incomplete collection, I just seem to grow tired of the hype. Also not interested in this new album/ep/split/whatever.
  10. Definitely State Faults. So under appreciated. There's this huge wave of really well known and also quite successful Post-HC bands going on and to me State Faults are superior to all of them. One of the most interesting, technically versatile and gut-wrenchingly awesome bands out there at the moment. If you are into anything involving Touché Amore, Pianos Become The Teeth etc seriously check these guys out and be blown away instantly.
  11. Weakling would be a huge one for me too. Can't see myself getting a hold of that one ever though.
  12. There are two holes to fill in my top 15 fav records of all time. Mellon Collie - Easy one, just waiting for the right price tag Lonesome Crowded West - Oh dear... Other than that in no particular order Daydream Nation Youth Of America Disintegration Deathconsciousness Perfect From Now On Untrue Jane Doe Loveless Souvlaki Do You Know Who You Are The Meadowlands American Football All The Footprints You've Ever Left
  13. Wow, ruined? To me 'Rooms of the House' is by far their most cohesive and compelling album. Top 5 of the year material..
  14. Nope, didn't like it all that much. I always considered the tortured and unstable vocal performance to be the essential part of their songs and this one doesn't deliver. Do not agree on the Will Yip discussion though. To me he is the person who made La Dispute finally record a great album. Unpopular opinion, I know, but it's the first album of theirs that I can listen through without being bored and/or cringing at the lyrics every five minutes.
  15. Since mbv is still in print, I'd go for the other one. Not impossible to come by, but we all know the hassle of seeking oop-stuff.
  16. I love all of their three albums but to me they are pretty different. Especially Isn't Anything and mbv have pretty much nothing in common. mbv's first three songs do share a lot of its sound aesthetics with Loveless, while to me none of it sounds dated or half-written. The second half must've mostly been written around 1998, when Kevin said in multiple interviews that he's found a lot of inspiration in jungle/club music. To me it all sounds amazing and totally out of time, just like Loveless does to this day. And keep in mind how infinitely great the accompanying EP's to Isn't Anything and Loveless are. Just as essential as the best tracks in either album.
  17. Jacob Bannon / Converge. It always seems like these guys have enough projects in music or art going on to work 24h a day to make it all happen.
  18. Couldn't agree more on that. 'Loveless' may take a while to sink in, but you will most likely appreciate it eventually.
  19. Saw those Slowdive Shirts at this year's OFF but didnt like any of them enough to purchase. Got lucky on eBay last night, snagged both the 'Slowdive' and 'Holding our breath' EP's for 15€ each. Been looking out for them for years.
  20. 2'nd. My all time fav' songs by them, Avalyn I & II, are exclusively on their selftitled EP. Sooo so happy they played it when I saw them last weekend. After 10+ years of going to shows truly the most amazing concert that I have ever seen. If you are into them and have the opportunity to go, do it. It's breathtaking.
